Jude Law wouldn’t necessarily call himself an expert in the field of fatherhood.

Okay, so when Jude and Phillipa had their second baby – his seventh! Can you believe it?! – he finally seemed to have gotten the hang of things. It’s like, after all the kids, he finally figured out how this whole ‘parenting’ thing works, you know?

In a September 2025 interview on NPR’s Fresh Air, the British actor described the feeling of returning to a role as feeling “brand new with every one,” while also noting it’s a calming experience. He explained it’s like traveling a familiar route, but with changing conditions – the weather is never the same, and sometimes you’re in a different car.

Jude Law has a large and uniquely formed family. He shares three children – Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy – with his ex-wife Sadie Frost. He also has a daughter, Sophia, with Samantha Burke, and another daughter, Ada, with Catherine Harding. In addition, he has two younger children, whose names are currently private, with Phillipa.

Honestly, this man hasn’t stopped for a second in thirty years! At 53, he’s been constantly juggling family matters, always switching between different branches of the family tree. He just never seems to have a moment to relax.

Jude shared that being a parent is the most important thing in his life, and it keeps him grounded and present. He loves watching his children learn and grow each day, and he feels it’s important to support them through that process, whether by actively guiding them or simply being there for them.

Reflecting on being a young father in his mid-20s, he remembers having much more stamina and a quicker recovery time!

“It takes its toll,” he admitted. “It’s hard work.”

Jude jokingly admitted he sometimes took roles simply to earn money. However, he also enjoyed playing Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts films and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel—likely because he wanted to entertain his children.

Looking back, he realized the most important thing his family did for him was help him maintain a normal life. He especially cherished being able to go home and simply be a dad, putting aside all other roles and responsibilities.

Jude Law and Sadie Frost first met on the set of the 1994 British film Shopping. Law was 21 years old at the time, and Frost was 28.

After her divorce from musician Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet was completed the next year, Frost married Law in September 1997.

Throughout their relationship, Sadie Frost and Jude Law had three children: sons Raff and Rudy, and daughter Iris. Frost also has a son, Finlay, from a previous relationship with Gary Kemp.

In her 2010 memoir, Crazy Days, Frost revealed she experienced serious postpartum depression. She explained that the more she focused on her own struggles, the less she was able to connect with her son, Jude.

She and Law split up in January 2003 and were officially divorced by August. They released a statement explaining it was the best solution for both of them.

In her book, Frost described Law as the love of her life, highlighting that he was both a supportive partner and a fantastic father.

She explained that they generally get along well, though they occasionally disagree or bother each other. However, they always work things out and don’t hold grudges.

I remember reading in The Guardian back in 2011 that Hugh Law described his co-parenting relationship with ex-wife Sadie Frost as really working well. He said they had a great system in London, sharing custody 50/50 and living close enough to each other to make it all run smoothly.

He’d found a way to live comfortably with his fame, explaining that he still leads a pretty normal life with his children. They often travel by train and bus, which he prefers, believing that isolating yourself from everyday life can create problems.

On the personal front, Raff has been dating Rosa Ramirez since at least 2023.

Iris was born Oct. 25, 2000.

Like her godmother, Kate Moss, she began modeling as a teenager and has since worked with top designers such as Burberry, Miu Miu, and Fendi.

Rudy, the youngest of Frost and Law’s three children, hasn’t fully pursued a career in entertainment yet. He’s appeared in a couple of short films and has occasionally joined his siblings at red carpet events, and he also posts on Instagram from time to time.

In a 2016 interview with The Observer, Jude Law noted that his older children consistently wanted to return home, which he saw as a positive sign. He believes home offers comfort, safety, and a stimulating environment. His children seem to appreciate that, even as they get older, their parents’ home is a place where interesting people gather. Law recalls feeling the same way growing up – his own childhood home was always lively and full of engaging activity that he wanted to be involved in.

Law and Miller met in 2003 on the set of the Alfie remake and got engaged over Christmas in 2004.

Their relationship never blossomed, and in 2005, tabloids claimed Jude Law had an affair with his children’s nanny, Daisy Wright.

Law wasn’t involved with Ada’s mother when Ada was born on March 15, 2015, but Harding stated he was actively involved as a father from the beginning.

When Ada was just two months old, I noticed she looked so much like her dad, Jude! It’s funny, people kept saying she resembled him far more than me. Jude is such a natural with her – he’s really funny and incredibly sweet. I’ll never forget last week when he had to change her diaper on a park bench – he handled everything so well and made sure she was all clean and comfortable.

Harding had requested only her mother be with her during Ada’s birth, but Law arrived immediately after she contacted him following the delivery.

The singer, also known as Cat Cavelli, shared that she met Law at a bar in London’s Soho. She clarified that reports of a seven-week relationship weren’t accurate, stating it was closer to seven months. They are currently friends, but a romantic reconciliation isn’t planned.

In 2020, Harding had a son named Jax with footballer Jorginho (born Jorge Luiz Frello Filho). They later married in 2025.

I was shocked when I saw Jorginho’s story online in March 2026! Apparently, Chappell Roan had her security team confront a young fan, Ada, who was just eleven years old. All Ada did was walk past Chappell’s table at a hotel in Brazil and give her a friendly smile, and Chappell Roan reacted by having security step in. It was so upsetting to hear!

Okay, so after all that drama, Roan actually said she was totally clueless! She insisted the security guard who came over wasn’t even her security, like she had no idea what was going on. Honestly, it’s just… unbelievable. I need to know everything!

Roan expressed regret to the mother and child, apologizing for someone presuming things and causing them discomfort. They stated that this situation was upsetting and that the mother and child didn’t deserve to be treated that way.

Law was first romantically linked to Coan, a psychologist, in 2015 and they married in April 2019.

The actor shared with The Telegraph in January 2020 that they’re having the most fun they’ve ever had in a relationship. They described a very stable, healthy, and happy family life, enjoying both their young adult children and their younger kids, who bring a lot of joy. They expressed a desire to have another child, feeling incredibly lucky to be in love and suggesting it would be wonderful to expand their family.

The actor announced in September 2020 that they had a baby. They told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that it was a special time, saying they felt lucky to be able to stay home as a family and enjoy each new day together.

In a September 2025 interview with Fresh Air, actor Jude Law mentioned his youngest child is three years old. This suggests his second child with his wife, Phillipa Coan, was born in late 2021 or 2022. The couple has not publicly revealed the names or genders of either of their children.
