Utawarerumono: Shiro e no Michishirube launches May 28 in Japan

The game Utawarerumono: Shiro e no Michishirube is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam) in Japan on May 28th, according to the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu.

A Switch 2 version of Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten will be released simultaneously with the original game.

Naoya Shimokawa, president of AQUAPLUS, announced in a Famitsu.com interview that a bundle containing both Utawarerumono: Shiro e no Michishirube and Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten will be released.

Shimokawa said the story will likely take around 35 hours to finish if you listen to all the voice acting and read everything thoroughly. If you’re a faster reader, it should take about 20 to 25 hours.

The game will include approximately 100 new songs. Players can also expect the battle system from Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten to return, improved with new features and a refined “Action Ring” system that determines the turn order.

Here is the game’s story synopsis:

This is a story from the distant past. No, this is a story from the far future.

The great state of Yamato—a land ruled by an emperor, a living god.

Yamato was saved from an attack by Arva Shulan thanks to the efforts of Oshtor, Mikazuchi, Munechika, and Shunya, bringing peace back to the land.

Eventually, a sense of unease fell over Yamato. Unusual things started happening all over the land, and these seemingly separate incidents began to connect, pointing to a single source.

In response, three points overlapped with one another, and once again, a new journey began.

They have no idea that their journey will lead to a momentous discovery – a signpost pointing towards a future filled with legend. Deep within a misty, peaceful place, a long period of rest was about to conclude.
