As an old-school gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that Stunlock Studios’ V Rising has piqued my interest! Five years in the making and now finally out of early access, it’s like watching a fine wine age gracefully. The free weekend on PC sounds like the perfect opportunity for me to dive into this sandbox action RPG, especially considering I still haven’t upgraded my gaming rig to handle next-gen graphics just yet!
From September 12th, 10 AM Pacific Time, until September 16th, you’ll have a chance to explore Stunlock Studios’ open-world action RPG, V Rising, for free on PC! During this timeframe, Steam players can delve into the game and enjoy the entire experience, whether they prefer playing alone or with friends.
V Rising, a game that was in development for five years, started its early access phase in 2022. Upon the release of Version 1.0, it introduced a new end-game zone called Ruins of Mortium, along with fresh discoveries and bosses. Additionally, three new difficulty options were added to the game. From September 12th to 24th, the game will be on sale, and for those who stay after the free weekend ends, cosmetic DLCs will be discounted by 20 percent.
By April 2024, the game V Rising has sold an impressive four million copies and is now available on PS5 starting June 11th. The developer hinted at some exciting announcements coming this Fall. However, they haven’t shared specific plans beyond Version 1.0’s launch yet. In the interim, there have been several hotfixes to address ongoing bugs and issues.
