Valor Mortis Delayed to October 13th Due to “Absolutely Stacked” September

After a lot of games announced September releases, it wasn’t surprising some would change their plans. One More Level’s Valor Mortis is the first to do so, now scheduled to launch on October 13th instead of September 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

“September has become absolutely stacked with incredible-looking games,” it wrote on Twitter. “We knew this was a possibility, but when you’re in a partner showcase as we were, dates get locked weeks in advance.” Which would certainly explain why so many titles, including Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and more opted for the same day.

We’re pushing back the release of Valor Mortis to October 13th. This will give both the game and your budget a little more time to prepare.

I’ve been following Valor Mortis since it launched on Steam, and it’s a little worrying to see it’s currently getting a “Mixed” rating. A lot of the 700+ reviews mention problems with performance, and a big one seems to be how clunky it feels switching between magic, blocking, and attacking. It’s a shame, because the studio’s last game, Ghostrunner 2, was really good, so fans like me were hoping for a similar feel with Valor Mortis. They really need a bit more time to polish things up and address the feedback, I think.

I’m really excited about Valor Mortis! It’s set in a cool alternate version of 19th-century Europe, and the premise is awesome – you play as one of Napoleon’s soldiers who comes back to life and goes on a quest to find him through a pretty messed-up, plague-ridden world. The good news is there’s still time for the developers to polish things up before it launches, which is great to hear. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more news and updates!
