Last year, Valve unexpectedly announced the return of the Steam Machine instead of a new Steam Deck. This device, a combination PC and console, is part of a series of new products Valve plans to release in 2026. However, Valve hasn’t yet announced when these products—including the Steam Machine—will be available or how much they will cost. This delay is mainly due to a shortage of essential memory and storage parts, which has also limited the availability of the current Steam Deck. Valve’s latest annual report confirms that the Steam Machine and other new products are still planned.
Valve just released its 2025 Steam Year in Review, looking back at the past year. This review included updates on the Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame VR – all announced last year. The good news is Valve still intends to release all three of these products this year.
Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and New Steam Controller Still Expected in 2026

Valve revealed three new gaming products planned for 2025: a Steam Controller resembling the Steam Deck, a versatile Steam Frame VR headset for both virtual and traditional gaming, and a new Steam Machine. The Steam Machine is a small, console-like device designed to let users easily play their Steam games on a TV. It could be a good option for gamers who don’t have powerful PCs but want access to Steam’s extensive game collection. However, questions about certain important details have created some doubt about whether the Steam Machine will actually come to fruition.
Many gamers are curious about how much Valve’s new hardware will cost, especially as technology gets more expensive. Valve hasn’t announced prices for the Steam Machine or any of its 2026 devices yet. While those details are still upcoming, Valve assures us these additions to the Steam gaming world will arrive in 2026. According to Valve, all three products will be released this year, and they’ll share more information as their plans are finalized.

Steam still plans to release the Steam Machine and its new hardware this year, but the exact timing is uncertain. Originally expected in early 2026, the release was then pushed to the first half of the year. Now, it appears the launch might be delayed even further, simply targeting sometime in 2026. There were also no new details shared about how much the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, or Steam Controller will cost.
Currently, Valve plans to launch the Steam Machine and related products sometime this year. We don’t know yet if that will be this summer or closer to the holidays, and we’ll need more information to find out.
So, Steam Machines are finally almost here, right? I’m really curious to know if anyone’s planning on grabbing one when they launch. Let me know what you think in the ComicBook Forum – I’d love to hear your thoughts!
