After a long and troubled development process with numerous setbacks and changes in the team, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has officially launched on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can watch the launch trailer below.
From the creators of Still Wakes the Deep, this game puts you in the roles of Phyre, an ancient vampire, and Fabien, a detective with a unique perspective. Together, they investigate the vampire clans of Seattle. Your character’s abilities – like telekinesis, controlling blood, or hypnosis – will depend on the vampire Discipline you choose.
Early reactions to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 haven’t been very positive. On Steam, the game currently has a “Mixed” rating, with only 55% of over 1,900 player reviews recommending it. Critics are also somewhat divided, giving it a Metascore of 65 based on 25 reviews.
The team at The Chinese Room is currently working on improving conversations, goals, save points, and how characters react in the central hub area, as well as resolving game crashes and freezes. Looking ahead, they plan to release story expansions – Loose Cannon in the second quarter of 2026 and The Flower and The Flame in the third quarter of the same year.
