Vera Farmiga Details Spooky Bruises From The Conjuring: Last Rites

Vera Farmiga is always a little worse for wear after leaving The Conjuring universe.

During their filming of “The Conjuring: Last Rites”, it was consistent that Patrick Wilson and Violet (Farmiga) played real-life psychic researchers Lorrain Warren and Ed Warren. For Farmiga, this was the last opportunity for a strange behind-the-scenes incident to happen, as she mentioned she has experienced several mysterious injuries throughout the film series. The actor from “Bates Motel” shared this odd experience with us.

In an exclusive interview with Francesca Amiker from TopMob News, Farmiga confessed that she often gets bruised during filming. She even showed a picture of a cross-shaped bruise on her leg as evidence. She explained, ‘Every time we do it, I get bruised in strange shapes that don’t have an explanation.’ So, it’s just something that happens.

However, there’s an explanation as to why she and Wilson seldom disclose the authentic paranormal experiences they’ve encountered during their over-a-decade tenure on the set of the ‘The Conjuring’ film series.

She also mentioned that it’s not something they enjoy discussing, as they find themselves in a tricky situation – having to dramatize it for public interest and making a film out of it.”

“She further stated that they aren’t fond of addressing this matter, as they are stuck in a predicament where they might have to exaggerate it for entertainment purposes and create a movie.

In this final on-screen collaboration as the Warrens, Farmiga and Wilson delve into another notorious case associated with the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR). Accompanied by director Michael Chaves, along with producers James Wan and Peter Safran, they explore the demonologists’ encounters with the Smurl family. This family reportedly endured both supernatural and violent occurrences in their Pennsylvania home during the 1970s and ’80s.

As for what to expect from Last Rights, Farmiga simply offers a warning.

Prepare yourself, friend, she warned about their final film together. “You’ll leap and shout, but you’ll also shed many tears,” she predicted. “I’m merely stating this. You’re going to feel deeply. You’re going to lose quite a few tears. Make sure you have tissues handy. And the soft ones with lotion.

When it comes to Wilson, he mentioned that the conclusion of this partnership felt somewhat unusual. He explained, “Expressing it in words is almost impossible.” He further added, “Given our personalities and our roles as actors, we’re accustomed to a transient lifestyle,” indicating the nomadic nature of their professional journey.

The former cast member of “Fargo” commented, “It truly seemed like we were approaching the conclusion of a chapter. This ordeal, without a doubt, marks the most challenging experience these characters have faced – and perhaps even for us working on this series.
