Like a fine wine, Vera Wang just gets better with time.
The fashion designer, celebrating her 76th birthday this June, is known for looking remarkably young. She recently revealed what she believes helps her stay energetic and vibrant.
Vera shared with TopMob News at the DKMS Gala that she believes hard work is incredibly valuable. ‘I think work is a great way to stay busy and focused, both mentally and physically,’ she explained. ‘It’s really important to stay engaged, and work helps with that.’
She doesn’t have any strict rules for her daily beauty routine, but she really emphasizes the importance of exercise.
You know, I try to prioritize fitness whenever I can fit it in. Honestly, my routine is a bit all over the place! My life is just so full-on with work, but truthfully, work is what *energizes* me. It’s what keeps me motivated and moving!
The designer, who creates wedding dresses, also shared her thoughts on how birthdays feel as she enters her seventies, offering a surprisingly positive outlook.
I don’t really make plans for the future anymore, but I’m incredibly thankful for the support I receive and feel fortunate to still be so active and involved in life. I believe birthdays are something to be cherished. Many of my friends are afraid of getting older, but I tell them that reaching this age is a blessing, and it’s something to celebrate.
Vera, who has two daughters – 33-year-old Cecilia and 30-year-old Josephine – with her former husband, Arthur Becker, recently made a statement with her birthday outfits. She celebrated in both a revealing slip dress and a delicate lace gown adorned with pearls.
She shared on Instagram in June that she was celebrating her 75th or 76th birthday in New York City with her friends from Paris and some lifelong companions. She expressed her gratitude for a wonderful evening.
Vera has her own beauty secrets, but if you want to know what’s popular right now, check out these TikTok beauty trends…

TikTok’s ‘dotted hack’ is a clever makeup technique that’s both quick and feels light on your skin, plus it helps you use up less product. Instead of applying foundation, concealer, blush, and other makeup in layers, you just place small dots of each product where you need it, then blend them out starting with the lightest shades and moving to the darkest.
Taking inspiration from Kylie Jenner’s winter trip in 2019 and the season itself, makeup fans have been creating a look that mimics the rosy cheeks, red nose, and brightened under-eyes you get from being out in the cold.
Hailey Bieber popularized the super glossy manicure, making it a major trend. Her love of dewy, radiant looks extended to her nails, creating the ‘glazed donut’ nail craze. She first showed off the pearly white nails at the 2022 Met Gala, and later updated the look with chocolate and festive holiday variations throughout the year.
Okay, so you might have seen this trending on TikTok – period blood face masks! Seriously, people were collecting their menstrual blood (usually from a cup) and applying it to their skin, hoping for a clearer complexion. It racked up *billions* of views, which just shows how quickly these things spread! But as a skincare expert, I have to tell you, dermatologists – like Dr. Geeta Yadav – are pretty clear on this one: there’s absolutely no benefit to using it on your skin, aside from it being free. It’s definitely a trend I’d advise skipping!
Remember how amazing Robert Pattinson’s skin looked as the vampire Edward Cullen in *Twilight*? August Sombatkamrai, known online as @imonaugust, is the artist behind that sparkly effect! You can recreate the look yourself by simply mixing silver glitter into your foundation.
A beauty influencer known as Glamzilla demonstrated a unique makeup application method she called “weird makeup science,” which led people to try frothing their foundation like a latte. This involved mixing a few drops of foundation with water to create a light, mousse-like texture. However, chemist Ginger King cautioned against using this technique.
Adding water to beauty products creates a higher risk of bacterial growth, according to an interview with Allure magazine.
This summer, a makeup trick called the “W” blush became super popular. It let people achieve a natural, sun-kissed look without any sun exposure! To do it, you simply apply blush in a “W” shape across your cheeks and nose. Cream or liquid blush works best because they blend easily for a smooth finish.
The “Manga Lashes” trend, popular on TikTok, takes inspiration from the big, expressive eyes seen in Japanese manga and anime. People create this look by either cutting false eyelashes into tiny pieces or by gluing individual lashes together in small clumps. The result is a dramatic, spiky, doll-like effect that really makes the eyes stand out.
A popular bleached eyebrow filter on TikTok inspired many users to try the look in real life, leading to a surge in at-home eyebrow dyeing. However, it’s crucial to remember that bleaching your eyebrows – particularly without professional help or the right products – can have negative consequences.
Hair bleaching ingredients with high levels of hydrogen peroxide can cause severe burns, warns New York City dermatologist Michelle Henry in a statement to Allure. Using a solution that’s too strong can damage both eyebrows and hair, and serious burns may lead to permanent hair loss.
Skin cycling is a beauty trend that’s actually beneficial, unlike some other potentially harmful TikTok fads. New York dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe, who came up with the idea, suggests following a four-night skincare plan.
Follow this skincare cycle: exfoliate on night one, use a retinoid on night two, and then focus on hydrating and repairing your skin for the next two nights. After that, start the cycle over again.
Although the practice of ‘skin cycling’ isn’t groundbreaking—it’s simply a newly popular term—it definitely offers advantages. Dr. Bowe explained to TopMob News that it helps you maximize the effectiveness of your skincare routine and achieve noticeable improvements in your skin.
