Victoria Beckham admitted starting her fashion line was a steep learning experience. She and her husband, David Beckham, faced significant temporary debt as they figured out how to run a business.

In the new Netflix series *Victoria Beckham*, she revealed they were deeply in debt – “tens of millions in the red.” She explained that going home meant discussing the financial troubles not just with her husband, but with her business partner too. She admitted she dreaded these conversations, saying, “I absolutely hated it.”

But in her husband of over 25 years, Victoria had an understanding partner.

David, now 50, remembers sitting down to review his investments. He said the conversation that followed was particularly painful because Victoria is a very proud person. Ugh, even *hearing* myself say it now makes me cringe, but I totally let that happen. And honestly, I think everyone around me was just…terrified of disagreeing with me. They were too scared to tell me ‘no,’ and I just…let them fall in line. It’s awful to admit, but that’s what happened.

Victoria shares four children – Brooklyn Beckham, 26, Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 14 – with her husband David. She’s mentioned many times how much his support has meant to her.

He supported me when many others didn’t, and he took a chance on me,” the 51-year-old shared in a recent interview with *ELLE*. “There have been times when people dismissed my work or didn’t take my business seriously, but he always had faith in me.”
