It’s understandable if you didn’t realize the PSVR2 recently turned three – Sony appears to have largely forgotten about it too.
It feels like virtual reality headsets have been largely forgotten lately. While new games are still being released, they don’t come out very often.
Indeed, 2026’s current PSVR2 schedule is… dry, to say the least.
Sony hasn’t made any announcements on social media or their PlayStation Blog, and they weren’t included in the recent State of Play presentation, which lasted for more than an hour.
PlayStation Studios seems to have stopped actively supporting PSVR2, leaving it up to independent developers to create new games for the platform. Unfortunately, these games rarely get noticed because they don’t receive much promotion from official PlayStation sources.
Is the PSVR2 essentially failing? Our video producer, Aaron, explores this question in his newest video, which you can find at the top of this page.
Aaron has always been a strong supporter of Sony’s VR headsets, often rushing to their defense, but even he’s now disappointed by the company’s clear lack of support for the technology.
We’re curious to hear what everyone thinks about the PSVR2 now that it’s been out for a while. Vote in our poll and share your thoughts in the comments!
