Coronation Street‘s Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is once again in a difficult and dangerous situation, as his abusive relationship with boyfriend Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) continues.
This past year has been turbulent for the couple, leading to the breakup between Theo and his wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson). We learned that Theo’s resentment towards his own sexuality stemmed from conversion therapy he underwent while married.
The couple seemed to have a chance for a new beginning, but Theo soon started acting strangely and became easily angered, sometimes becoming violent over minor things. Recently, he’s gone further, even smashing Todd’s face into a mirror and forcing him to follow a demanding exercise plan.

We then watched Todd purchase photo frames with hidden cameras inside. It was clear he was gathering evidence to show that his perception of Theo was incorrect.
I was absolutely shocked during Monday’s episode of the show! Todd finally figured out someone was using his fitness watch to follow him, and he immediately ended things with that person. But honestly, it led to something truly awful happening – I couldn’t believe what followed!
Theo provoked Todd into a fight. During the struggle, Theo was knocked backwards, crashing through a coffee table and losing consciousness. Police arrived quickly and arrested Todd for questioning.

At the hospital, Theo continued to portray Todd as the bad guy, just like he did in today’s episode.
Bernie Winter told Billy Mayhew and Summer Spellman she’d found their apartment very messy, with furniture and broken things everywhere. They found it hard to believe that Todd’s temper would escalate to the point of destruction, particularly towards someone he claimed to care for, and suspected there was more to the story than they knew.

Others also felt something was off. When George Shuttleworth joined the couple for lunch, he observed Todd’s discomfort, while Theo tried to downplay their issue as just a small argument that had gone wrong.
As soon as he was alone, Theo took Todd’s laptop and went to the bedroom. There, he watched the footage from the hidden camera and made some changes to it.
He unfairly twisted the situation to make Todd appear guilty and himself seem innocent.
Is Todd trapped, or will he find a way to open up about his abuse?
