Compile Heart has revealed the opening cinematic and music videos for their new school-based RPG, Villion: Code. The game is directed by Kouji Okada, a key figure in the creation of the Megami Tensei and Persona series. The game’s official website has also been updated with information about additional characters and gameplay features.
Here are the new system details:
■ Cooperating with Party Members
Skill Switch
In battle, you can unleash powerful mutated skills by using the skill gauges of your allies. When you do, you’ll instantly switch control to the ally who performed the skill, letting you fight as them for a time.

RUSH
If you attack enemies while they’re stunned using specific attacks or abilities, you’ll start a “RUSH.” During a RUSH, you and your teammates can use special skills repeatedly without using up your energy. Working together and chaining skills together lets you inflict massive damage.

Bounce Back from an Out-of-Bounds Defeat
If you see a button prompt on screen while outside the battle area, pressing the button lets you quickly return to the fight, preventing a knockout. The more your teammates like you, the simpler these button prompts will be, making it easier to get back into the action.

Stun and Attribute Unlock
Team up with your allies to attack enemies and fill a special gauge. Once full, you can activate powerful effects like ‘Stun’ – which lets you deal massive damage – and ‘Attribute Unlock,’ which triggers unique abilities based on the character’s attribute. The main character has a particularly strong attribute called ‘Awareness’ that briefly stops time.

Villion: Code is due out for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Switch on May 25 in Japan.
