Vin Diesel on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Bond After Feud

Vin Diesel is always about celebrating his family.

Vin Diesel, known for The Fast & The Furious franchise, recently complimented Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s acting in The Smashing Machine, where Johnson played MMA fighter Mark Kerr. This praise comes over two years after the two publicly resolved a long-standing disagreement, and Diesel shared a thoughtful message reflecting on their history working together.

Vin recently shared a post on Instagram from the set of the Fast movies, praising Dwayne. He explained how difficult it is to maintain a positive public image consistently. Vin recalled asking fans who he should work with, and a fan named Jan specifically requested a collaboration with Dwayne.

He went on to say that their collaboration became a remarkably successful partnership in film, with both actors challenging and inspiring each other to create something truly memorable. When he took on the role of Hobbs, he fully committed to it, leaving a lasting impact and becoming a beloved character in the Universal Pictures universe.

Vin also commended the film, praising Mark Kerr’s achievement and highlighting Dwayne’s incredible performance. He felt Dwayne successfully captured the essence of the past and delivered a brilliant performance, expressing his pride in both of them.

Vin posted this message ten months after reconnecting with Dwayne at the 2025 Golden Globes. While presenting an award, Vin spotted Dwayne in the audience, smiled, and simply said, “Hey, Dwayne.”

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star smiled back and offered a nod from his seat.

Before Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel patched things up, they’d been publicly criticizing each other for years, ever since a falling out on set in 2016. That year, Dwayne revealed he had problems with Vin’s behavior during filming, saying Vin wasn’t professional. Later, Vin publicly asked Dwayne to come back to the Fast & Furious movies, but Dwayne told CNN in 2021 that he saw this as a manipulative tactic.

Fans of the Fast & Furious series were pleased to hear that Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel had resolved their differences and would be appearing together again in Fast X: Part 2, set to release in 2026.

Dwayne announced on X (formerly Twitter) in June 2023 that he and Vin Diesel had resolved their differences. He said they’re moving forward as brothers, committed to protecting the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise and its fans.

Even though Dwayne and Vin are managing to maintain a united front, here are some other celebrities who have had very public disagreements…

 

Okay, so Bobby addressed all the drama with Tan in January 2024 – it was killing me! It happened just two months after he announced he was leaving Queer Eye after eight amazing seasons. I was so worried they weren’t okay, but Bobby finally set the record straight, thankfully!

He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. He wanted to make that clear.

And to be clear, I didn’t have anything to do with anyone else not getting the job, either. It was purely about talent.

After years of speculation about a conflict between them, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty’s former co-star on Charmed, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. Combs claims this led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.

In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t get anyone fired and claimed that any current accounts of the events were simply inaccurate retellings of something that happened a long time ago.

At a MegaCon Orlando panel, Shannen stated that, to her knowledge, the story as it was originally told remains accurate and hasn’t been changed or rewritten.

Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, of “That ’70s Show” fame, to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed annoyed when he was a guest on The Talk in 2014, after she mistakenly said his name incorrectly.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?’ She responded sharply, telling him, ‘Don’t underestimate me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She essentially warned him, ‘You have no idea what you’re up against.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris clashed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition genders during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, adding that she enjoyed her current feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Bure publicly apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and admitting, “I’m so sorry, JoJo!”

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to the entire LGBTQ+ community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without giving proper credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason for his difficult relationship with the Forrest Gump star while filming the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers that famous line from Lauren, spoken at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt, and it really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne and Jason Statham was announced for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne remained involved.

As a longtime fan, I was really affected to hear Tyrese talk about his issues with The Rock on The Red Pill podcast with Van Lathan. He said, and it broke my heart, that he still hasn’t spoken directly to Dwayne, even now. He did mention he’d talked things over with one of The Rock’s producing partners, but not with Dwayne himself. It’s clear he really wants to have that conversation, and I hope they can resolve things.

Tyrese admitted he often ended up speaking for others involved with the franchise, but he regretted publicly sharing their private thoughts. ‘I take full responsibility for that,’ he said. ‘It wasn’t professional or a good look.’

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a shared backup dancer and rivalry during concert tours, was resolved when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared a video on Instagram explaining that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, and said it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and subsequently made some pointed comments about her co-star.

In a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.

She said she was just devastated. They had talked about it all week, and she was really bothered because her memory of what happened was completely different.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we all shared. It started as a professional project, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards that year, criticized Madonna’s live performances. The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to no longer be considered for an Emmy Award. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.

Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.

The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had supposedly reacted to a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting, though Nicki claims she didn’t actually engage with it.

I was set to earn a lot of money from my tour with Bruno Mars, but I chose to be with my daughter instead,” Cardi B explained. “I love my daughter, and I’m a really good mom. It’s frustrating when people without children criticize my choices. Everyone says the party wasn’t the right time or place to see another artist, but I don’t expect to run into someone famous casually like that again.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when Kanye interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which included a reference to Taylor.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview when Mariah was asked about other singers, including Jennifer. When asked specifically about J.Lo, Mariah famously said, “I don’t know her.”
