Vince Vaughn Reveals Where Wedding Crashers Sequel Really Stands

Is Vince Vaughn ready to be the life of the party once again?

Vince Vaughn, known for his role alongside Owen Wilson in the 2005 film Wedding Crashers, recently discussed the possibility of a sequel. This came after his co-star, Isla Fisher, mentioned that discussions about a second movie had been happening.

Vince recently told Will Marfuggi of TopMob News that he’s often considered revisiting past projects. Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice on March 24th, Vince explained that while he’s open to the idea, it would require a compelling story. He emphasized the need for a strong concept, rather than simply doing something for the sake of it.

The 55-year-old actor, who stars as Nick in the new Hulu sci-fi comedy premiering on March 27th, has generally been very careful about revisiting characters he’s played before, throughout his long career.

He added that he’d never made a sequel before, though he’d been offered opportunities. He believes any follow-up needs to stand on its own as a new story.

Despite any hesitation, Vince was open to the idea of revisiting the popular movie from the mid-2000s – which also featured Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper, and Christopher Walken – and said it would be enjoyable to work with them again if the opportunity arose.

As for where a potential follow-up would find Vince and Owen’s womanizing duo?

“Who knows?” Vince said with a playful smile. “There are so many possibilities, and you never know where life will lead you.”

Isla, age 50, recalled that the original cast of Wedding Crashers had almost developed a solid idea for a sequel two years prior, and emphasized the strong comedic chemistry between her fellow actors.

In an interview with TopMob News in January 2024, she praised the strong connection between Vince and Owen, saying their chemistry is clearly visible and creates a uniquely funny dynamic. She expressed her hope to see them work together on screen again.

Isla said she hoped they’d have another get-together, saying it would be a really enjoyable way for everyone to reconnect.

You can currently see Vince in Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, which premieres on Hulu March 27th. Keep scrolling to discover other new releases worth checking out.
