Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! The story in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is starting to come together, and a new danger – the Simurians – is becoming clear. This sequel manga, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, takes place 68 years after the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen story, following a new group of characters who are working to create a more peaceful future for the world of Jujutsu. While things have been relatively calm since the defeat of Ryomen Sukuna, that peace is now threatened by the arrival of 50,000 Simurians – an alien race with powers similar to Jujutsu sorcerers – who have come to Japan as refugees.
There’s growing fear in the jujutsu world that a war is coming, and it’s clear humans would be at a significant disadvantage. The Simurians are considered as dangerous as Ryomen Sukuna, highlighting the immense threat they pose. Sixty-eight years ago, incredibly powerful sorcerers like Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and Yuta Okkotsu risked everything to defeat Sukuna. However, the current generation lacks sorcerers of that caliber, making Yuji Itadori, who is still alive, their last chance at survival.
Yuji May Be Taking Help From Aoi in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Everyone in the Jujutsu world is desperately looking for Yuji, but he’s currently in hiding and the reason is a mystery. The story is set nearly 70 years after Sukuna was defeated, meaning many beloved characters from the original series are likely gone. We already know Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin have died, and others probably have as well. Interestingly, Yuji is still alive and doesn’t seem to have aged, possibly due to the cursed objects he’s absorbed to gain power.
The story hasn’t explained why this kind, helpful character is avoiding the Jujutsu sorcerers. Even though he’s become much stronger, it must be hard to stay hidden from everyone. One fan on X, @kamotsu_8190141, suggests that Aoi Todo, a close friend who’s always been particularly supportive of him, might be the one assisting him.
Aoi and Yuji shared three particularly memorable scenes in the main storyline. A recent post sparked a lot of debate among fans, with some dismissing a related theory as unlikely, and others finding it plausible. The theory suggests Todo’s unique ability—which allows him to relocate allies when they’re in danger—explains why Yuji remains under constant observation, as it’s a perfect way to keep him safe from discovery.
