Virgin River season 7 gets major release update as resolutions teased for “a lot of cliffhangers”

A new update about Virgin River season 7’s release date has been revealed.

According to actor Benjamin Hollingsworth, the next season of the show – which centers on nurse practitioner Mel and her move to the small town of Virgin River in Northern California following a personal tragedy – will debut in March 2026.

Actor Hollingsworth, known for his role as Dan Brady, announced the news while on FOX 5’s Good Day New York, where he was promoting his new film, The Christmas Ring. He confirmed the timing when the show’s hosts specifically asked him about it.

He called the renewal of Virgin River for an eighth season “surreal” and expressed how grateful he was that it’s become the show’s longest-running series. He shared his deep affection for his character, Brady, and how connected he feels to him.

He hinted at what’s coming up for his character, explaining that Brady ended the last season broke – with no money in his bank account.

He also mentioned that the man is out of money again, and that his girlfriend, Brie – whom he considers his first true love – was unexpectedly proposed to by a man named Mike, who used a bottle cap as a ring.

The show will end with several unresolved storylines. He’ll be searching for the stolen money and trying to reconnect with his former girlfriend, all while figuring out if a relationship with Brie is possible.

A March 2026 release window has not been officially confirmed by Netflix.

The streaming service announced earlier that the show will return in 2026, a detail Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos shared during an October earnings discussion.

This means the show, which has aired a new season every year since its debut in 2019, will skip a year for the first time. After season six was released in December 2024, no new seasons are planned for the rest of 2025.
