Carolyn Cousin and Cameron Butts are building their legacy, one letter c at a time.
A couple from Virginia recently became popular on TikTok after sharing that they named all six of their children variations of the name “Cam”-a tribute to their father-but with different spellings.
In a TikTok video posted on July 6th, the family member, 31, shared the first names of her children: her daughters are Camryn, 9, and Carmyn, 4. She also has four sons with very similar names: Cameron Jr., 8, Camreon, 6, Cam’Ron, 2, and Camarion, who is 7 months old.
Okay, so it’s a little unusual, I admit, but when I heard about how thoughtful this couple was about their kids’ names, I was obsessed! Apparently, they really wanted a pattern to their baby names. And get this – Today reported that Butts always, always, dreamed of combining his and Carolyn’s names for his first daughter! It’s just…so sweet, and totally explains everything!
“A year later, we found out we were expecting a baby boy, and we knew we’d need another car, a ‘junior’ version, so to speak,” Cousin shared during the Oct. 1 interview. “When it came time for our third child, we decided to simply change two letters in the name, resulting in Camreon. And after that, we continued naming our children in a similar fashion.”
The mother of six explained, “Using their complete names helps my kids immediately understand which one I’m addressing. It’s a surprisingly effective method!”
Even though their children recognize the difference, it appears others don’t appreciate the unusual naming style. In fact, Cousin mentioned they’ve faced criticism for putting a unique spin on her kids’ names.
“My daughter, Camryn, was even looking at TikTok and didn’t understand the comments,” she shared, thinking about how her oldest child reacted to the responses. “She constantly tells me, ‘We really like our names.’”
Even with some critical feedback, her children are happily accepting their connection to their father. Interestingly, Cousin shared that she nearly gave her oldest child an even more unique name.
She shared that she had originally wanted her daughter’s middle name to be Love. “And when I told her,” she recounted, “she looked at me and said, ‘Are you saying my full name would have been Love Butts?’”

As Gwyneth Paltrow shared with Oprah Winfrey, the unique name of her daughter actually came from Chris Martin. She explained, “When we found out we were expecting, her father suggested, ‘If it’s a girl, I’d love to name her Apple.’ I thought it sounded really nice and created a beautiful image in my mind. Apples are naturally sweet, healthy, and have a connection to the Bible.”
As a lifestyle expert, I remember when Elon Musk and Grimes surprised everyone back in May 2020 by announcing the birth of their son, X Æ A-12, on Twitter! It was definitely a unique name choice. They actually had to make a small adjustment later on to comply with California law, which requires names to use only letters from the English alphabet. So, they updated it to X Æ A-Xii – still pretty distinctive, right?
“X represents the unknown,” Grimes shared on Twitter. “Æ is my elven way of spelling Ai, which stands for either love or Artificial intelligence. A-12 is the predecessor to SR-17 – it’s our favorite aircraft. It’s built for speed, with no weapons or defenses. It’s powerful in combat, but ultimately non-violent.”
So, I was chatting with Grimes, and she shared something really sweet! She said, “A=Archangel, my favorite song” and added a little rat and sword emoji 🐀⚔️. She then simply added, “Metal rat.”
In March 2022, she announced they had welcomed daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk via surrograte.

Sideræl-pronounced “sigh-deer-ee-el”-is “the actual time of the universe, based on the stars and deep space, rather than our everyday earth time,” she explained. It’s also a reference to her beloved Lord of the Rings character, Galadriel, who “chooses to give up the ring.”
