Fast Travel Games and Starbreeze Entertainment are teaming up to create PAYDAY: Aces High, a virtual reality game where players can pull off heists together. The game is planned for release on SteamVR and Meta Quest in 2026.
Fast Travel Games has long been impressed with how the PAYDAY series lets players experience thrilling, movie-style heists. This year, they’re taking it even further with PAYDAY: Aces High. Get ready for immersive VR action as you team up with up to three friends to pull off daring robberies, according to Fast Travel Games’ chief creative officer and co-founder, Erik Odeldahl.
Starbreeze Entertainment CEO Adolf Kristjansson explained that PAYDAY is a hugely popular gaming franchise, enjoyed by over 50 million players globally. He believes Fast Travel Games, a well-regarded virtual reality studio with more than ten years of experience in the field, is the perfect partner to bring PAYDAY to virtual reality. Their new game, Aces High, will expand the PAYDAY universe, letting players team up for incredibly immersive heists. Kristjansson emphasized that Aces High isn’t simply a port of the existing game, but a completely new PAYDAY experience designed specifically for virtual reality.
