VisionQuest’s Highly-Anticipated New MCU Hero Gets Comic-Accurate Costume in Brilliant Marvel Artwork

Marvel Studios is bringing back the hero Vision in the upcoming series VisionQuest, and fans are already imagining what he’ll look like when it arrives in 2026. This series will conclude the storyline that began with WandaVision and Agatha All Along, and it will feature Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision, who disappeared at the end of WandaVision in 2021. But Vision won’t be alone – VisionQuest will also include familiar artificial intelligence characters and a hero who’s been reborn.

I’m so excited about the casting news for VisionQuest! Ruaridh Mollica, who you might know from Sebastian and other shows, originally signed on to play a character named Tucker. But at New York Comic-Con, it was revealed he’ll be taking on a huge role – he’s going to be playing Speed, the reincarnated version of Tommy Maximoff! Jett Klyne did an amazing job as Speed in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and I can’t wait to see what Ruaridh brings to the character. Someone on Instagram, @arifinity, even shared some incredible fan art showing what a comic-accurate Speed costume could look like on Ruaridh, and it’s fantastic! Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long – VisionQuest is coming out in 2026!

How Tommy Maximoff’s Return in VisionQuest Will Change the MCU

Tommy Maximoff was introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the series WandaVision as one of the magically created twin sons of Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Vision. He lived within the reality Wanda created in Westview. When that reality collapsed, Tommy and his brother Billy (played by Julian Hilliard in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) disappeared. However, the episode Agatha All Along showed that their spirits lived on. Billy’s spirit found a new home in the character William Kaplan (Joe Locke), while Tommy needed help from his telepathic brother to find a new body.

In the finale of Agatha All Along, Tommy’s spirit possessed the body of a boy who was being bullied and drowned. This boy is revealed to be Thomas Shepherd, and actor Ruaridh Mollica will play him in VisionQuest. Just as William Kaplan gained Billy Maximoff’s mental powers as Wiccan, Thomas Shepherd will inherit the super-speed abilities of Tommy Maximoff, allowing him to become Speed. In Marvel comics, Wiccan and Speed are key members of the Young Avengers, and fans are hoping to see this team form within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.

With Ruaridh Mollica now confirmed to be in VisionQuest, fans are wondering if we might see the whole Maximoff family together again in 2026. The show could bring back Wiccan and the spirit of Agatha Harkness (played by Kathryn Hahn) as they search for Tommy and reconnect with Vision. This could even pave the way for the Scarlet Witch to return after her dramatic fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Because VisionQuest is coming to Disney+ right before Avengers: Doomsday, bringing back the Maximoffs would perfectly position them to fight Doctor Doom – a development that many Marvel fans would love to see.
