A new Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, is coming out soon – it’s been almost seven years since the last one! This release is a big deal for the franchise, especially since some recent Star Wars projects, including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, haven’t been well-received by fans. Many consider The Rise of Skywalker to be the weakest film in the series.
With high expectations for the new season of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Lucasfilm is clearly aiming to deliver something special. This has already led to exciting additions like the return of beloved characters such as Zeb Orrelios and a more classic portrayal of stormtroopers, but it also suggests we might be in for some major surprises. A recent trailer hints at a potential plot twist so unexpected it could fundamentally alter the direction of the entire franchise.
The Mandalorian And Grogu’s Newest Teaser Hints At Din’s Death

Following a substantial marketing campaign for The Mandalorian and Grogu, a recent trailer has hinted for the first time that Din Djarin could potentially die in the movie. While danger is always present for main characters in Star Wars, the possibility of anyone’s death wasn’t confirmed. However, up until now, the movie’s promotion hadn’t suggested that Din’s death was a real concern.
The trailer opens with a foreboding announcement: “The Mandalorian will die tomorrow.” From there, it repeatedly hints at the possibility of Din Djarin’s death. It starts with the theme of generations protecting each other—the old protecting the young, and then the young protecting the old—implying Grogu might need to protect Din in the upcoming film. The trailer also includes the line, “There comes a time where we all have to say goodbye,” which strongly suggests a significant farewell is coming, potentially between Din and Grogu.
The teaser ends with Din facing heavy blaster fire in his ship, repeating his mantra, “This is the way,” while someone urges him to escape. Combined with a previous scene where he encourages Grogu to be brave, these moments strongly suggest Din is in serious danger, which would be a surprising and unwelcome turn for The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Killing Din Djarin On The Big Screen Would Be Shocking

While it seems highly unlikely, the latest trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu has sparked debate about whether Din Djarin might actually die. Killing off his character would be a truly surprising move for Star Wars, and many fans might accept it more readily than some of the franchise’s more controversial plot twists, like bringing Palpatine back in The Rise of Skywalker.
This decision would be quite shocking for several reasons. The movie has been heavily marketed towards children, and with the popularity of Grogu, a lot of kids are expected to see it. Killing off Din Djarin, a main character, in front of that audience would be very surprising. It would also be an unexpected and bold move, regardless of the audience, considering his central role in the film.
Beyond that, the biggest surprise is what this decision means for the future of Star Wars. Din Djarin has become a key character for the franchise, so removing him would force Star Wars to significantly change its plans and find a new direction.
Would Star Wars Actually Kill Din?

As a huge Star Wars fan, I keep wondering if they’d really kill off Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and leave Grogu all alone. Honestly, I think it’s pretty unlikely. It would be a total shocker, and probably cause a huge uproar among fans. Plus, Disney would then have to figure out what the heck the future of the show – and maybe even the whole franchise – looks like without such a popular character. It’s a big risk, and I don’t see them taking it.
Despite these challenges, it would be a smart move for The Mandalorian and Grogu to pursue this path. It would also send a strong message that Star Wars is willing to take bold chances and is truly back in a big way.
