
To mark Aardman’s 50th birthday, fans can now experience the fun and charming universes of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Morph.
This experience blends Aardman’s iconic film scenes with previously unseen footage and newly created animation, all designed for Lightroom. It shows how a little bit of childhood imagination can grow into something amazing around the world.
Opening on October 14th, “Larger Than Life: Starring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun and More” is an immersive experience using cutting-edge projection technology. It transforms Lightroom’s walls and floor into a giant canvas to reveal the incredible process behind creating Aardman’s beloved films and characters – showing how each one is painstakingly built, frame by frame.
The show will last 50 minutes and continuously loop, immersing viewers in the world of Aardman and showcasing the imagination, comedy, and skill of its animators.
Nick Park, the creative force behind Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Creature Comforts at Aardman, shared his excitement about the new exhibit. He said it’s wonderful to see Aardman’s characters and worlds come to life in such an amazing and immersive way. From the original Wallace & Gromit drawings to the playful adventures of Shaun the Sheep, these stories have always focused on warmth, careful craftsmanship, and a good sense of humor.
Fans can now experience Wallace’s workshop and join Shaun the Sheep and his flock in a way that really feels like being part of the Aardman world. It’s an exciting new development for these beloved characters, combining their traditional stop-motion animation with modern technology to put audiences right in the middle of the story.

As a huge fan, there’s so much to love, but one thing that always gets me is the incredibly exciting train chase in Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers! It’s just a classic scene.
I’m so excited about what Lightroom is showing us! It’s like getting a peek behind the curtain at how these amazing British animations are made. They’re showing everything – the huge sets, the little details, and how the animators stay so focused. It really celebrates the hands-on, creative energy that’s been at the heart of British animation for fifty years, and it’s just breathtaking!
Everyone can enjoy this experience! Tickets start at £25 for adults and £15 for children and students. Families can also get an extra 15% off.
Peter Lord, co-founder of Aardman, explained that their work isn’t just about animation – it’s about bringing characters to life. He described the Lightroom experience as a wonderful showcase of the skill and artistry behind Aardman’s animation, and the sheer wonder of it all. He was especially pleased to see audiences connect with their characters in fresh, exciting ways, celebrating years of storytelling while also exploring new possibilities for how those stories are shared.
David Sproxton, who also co-founded Aardman, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership with Lightroom. He described it as a really innovative and immersive experience, allowing visitors to step inside the Aardman studio and see everything that goes into making their animations – from the sets and puppets to the cameras, lights, and the work of a real animator.
The exhibit will feature a huge collection of items from the Aardman archives, including many things never shown to the public before. It promises to be a delightful and fascinating experience.
