Fans are eager for more episodes of the hit anime Solo Leveling, but new ones aren’t expected soon. Luckily, another anime series coming this summer might fill the void. Solo Leveling was a huge success as an anime, but it originally gained massive popularity as a Korean webcomic. While webcomics have been adapted into anime before, Solo Leveling really showcased their potential, and a new series hopes to capture that same magic.
Tomb Raider King is a new anime series from Korea, inspired by SANG’s webcomic. The story follows a protagonist who gains supernatural abilities as he searches for relics hidden around the globe. While it’s different from Solo Leveling, the first trailer and poster suggest it will be just as exciting.
Tomb Raider King Anime Confirms July 2026 Release With Trailer
The anime series Tomb Raider King is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2026 as part of the summer lineup. However, specific release dates and plans for releasing the show outside of Japan haven’t been revealed yet. Kadokawa is producing the Korean-animated series, with Seung Wook Woo directing and writing the scripts for STUDIO EEK. Hyun-Jung Lee is the chief animation director and character designer, with Hyung Jun Heo also serving as a chief animation director, and Ju Young Kim composing the music.
The anime Tomb Raider King will be available with Japanese voice acting, featuring Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ryoga Goriki, Saori Hayami as Irene Holton, Junichi Suwabe as Taisei Ogawara, Miyu Irino as Kotaro Yanagi, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Noboru Kureha. The opening theme song, “Showdown,” will be performed by the K-pop group QWER, marking their first contribution to an anime soundtrack—and it will include Japanese lyrics. While the anime shares some similarities with Solo Leveling, it also brings its own unique elements to the table.
What Is Tomb Raider King About?

First launched by SANG on Kakao’s digital platforms in 2016, you can now read the original Tomb Raider King webcomic on Tapas. While it shares some similarities with Solo Leveling – featuring a protagonist with unique power – Tomb Raider King has a darker, more stressful tone. The story is set in a world where mysterious tombs have appeared, containing powerful relics that grant special abilities to those who find them.
When Ryoga is sent into an ancient tomb and then double-crossed by his boss, he’s unexpectedly thrown back in time fifteen years. He’s now the only one who knows where valuable artifacts are hidden. The story follows Ryoga as he uses this knowledge to become incredibly powerful and get revenge on those who wronged him. This more intense and vengeful approach could be exactly what fans who enjoyed Solo Leveling are looking for in 2026.
