Want to step into shows like The Traitors and EastEnders? BBC launches new live in-person experience

The BBC is launching a new live event where fans can step inside the universes of their beloved TV shows.

UNBOXD Live is coming to Birmingham, offering a unique experience designed for young people aged 16-24 and those who create content online. Attendees will be able to explore a range of interactive and immersive spaces.

Join us on February 5th at the Secret Space in Digbeth for an exciting event! We’re turning the venue into a fun and interactive space with live performances and a special look behind the scenes at some of the BBC’s most popular shows.

Contestants will experience challenges inspired by popular TV shows: they’ll tackle a mission from The Traitors, act in a scene filmed on the EastEnders set, and compete in a fast-paced packing challenge similar to Race Across the World.

Visitors can also participate in the BBC Sport Crossbar challenge, learn about the creation of news with the BBC Verify team, and even try DJing with guidance from Radio 1’s presenters and producers.

The event will feature live DJ sets from Birmingham-based artists who’ve played on BBC youth radio, along with discussions and workshops for content creators. The BBC’s Early Careers Team will also be on hand to offer guidance on finding careers, writing a great CV, and exploring apprenticeship opportunities.

According to BBC director-general Tim Davie, UNBOXD Live is a fun, interactive experience that lets younger viewers step inside their favorite BBC shows and become part of the action.

He added that it’s crucial for the BBC to stay connected with young people and help them navigate a rapidly changing and sometimes difficult world.

UNBOXD is happening live at the Secret Space in Digbeth on Thursday, February 5th, and you can apply for free tickets today!
