The *Semper Fidelis Event* is now live in War Thunder! Players can participate to unlock the EFV, a one-of-a-kind prototype vehicle used by the U.S. Marine Corps. The event takes place in Ground Battles from October 2nd (11:00 GMT) to October 20th (11:00 GMT).
What is the EFV?
General Dynamics created the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) for the U.S. Marine Corps in the early 2000s, but it was never actually used.
The EFV is an American light tank in War Thunder, available at Rank VI. It’s armed with a 30mm Bushmaster cannon, which can use different types of ammunition – high-explosive rounds to destroy aircraft, or armor-piercing rounds to take out enemy tanks.
The EFV is incredibly fast in the water, reaching speeds of up to 46 km/h – making it the quickest amphibious vehicle in the game. This speed lets players use unique strategies and quickly move around maps with a lot of water.
Event Rewards
Each stage requires 35,000 mission points and unlocks new rewards:
- 1 Stage: Random reward trophy
- 2 Stages: Decal
- 3 Stages: Random reward trophy
- 4 Stages: Decal
- 5 Stages: Random reward trophy
- 6 Stages: “EFV” profile background
- 7 Stages: Random reward trophy
- 8 Stages: Non-tradable EFV coupon
- 9 Stages: Unique EFV camouflage + 4 modifications
Players can earn extra rewards such as unique decals – including “Pressure Point,” “Hell Patrol,” and the “Jaws” camouflage – plus event chests containing Silver Lions, boosters, and Premium account time.
How to Earn Mission Points
- Play Ground Battles at Rank III or higher in Arcade, Realistic, or Simulator Battles.
- Event vehicles at Rank I–II are also eligible if marked with the event tag.
- Multipliers apply based on vehicle rank and mode.
Stages rotate every two days: October 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18.
Buying Stages
If you skip certain parts of the game, you can buy them with Golden Eagles. The further you progress, the less these purchases will cost.
- At 85% progress, cost is cut in half.
- At 95% progress, cost is reduced fivefold.
Coupon Upgrade Option
Finishing all 8 stages will reward you with a special EFV coupon that can’t be traded with other players. You can use this coupon immediately, or improve it with an “Upgrade for coupon” item to make it even better.
- The upgrade requires 700,000 mission points.
- Upgraded coupons become tradable and can be sold on the Market after six days.
- The upgrade item expires on October 24 at 11:00 GMT if unused.

I’m keeping an eye on my progress in the game under my nickname, and I’ve noticed the ‘Semper Fidelis’ achievement section. Good news for anyone who missed some stages – they’re still available to buy until October 24th, so there’s still time to complete everything!
