It’s Warhammer Day, the yearly celebration where Games Workshop reveals all sorts of new Warhammer goodies! Expect to see new action figures and exciting updates for Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 video games.
We’re going to focus on the recent updates, as there’s a lot of news to cover for games like Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy, Darktide, Boltgun 2, and others.
Here are all the Warhammer video game announcements for Warhammer Day.
Rust gets a Warhammer 40,000 Collaboration pack
I’ve just heard that Rust, the popular online game where you survive and build, is getting a really cool update. They’re releasing a Warhammer 40,000 cosmetic pack, which means you’ll be able to customize your character to look like a member of the tough Death Corps of Krieg. It’s a neat way to bring the grimdark aesthetic of Warhammer into the game.
This bundle features iconic gear from the Death Korps of Krieg, including a gas mask, greatcoat, chainsword, and shotgun. It’s available for purchase now in Rust on Steam as part of the Warhammer 40,000 collection.
Playable Sister of Battle announced for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2
A major update for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is adding a new playable character: Nyra Veyrath, a famous Sister of Battle. Players will now be able to experience the game as her.
As I’ve designed her, this character will be much more mobile than Malum Caedo, the Space Marine. She’ll also unleash a relentless barrage of firepower – think bolters, flamers, and meltaguns – on anyone who gets in her way. Basically, she’s all about speed and overwhelming offensive power.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is planned to launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, including through Steam.
Orks take to the skies in Deffkopters for Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks
Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks just added a new ride to its fast-paced, destructive demolition derby game!
The Deffkopter is a rough-and-ready aircraft that’s surprisingly dangerous. It attacks enemies with a barrage of rockets while staying relatively safe from attacks from below – unless the enemy has weapons designed to shoot down planes.
This free update is available to download right now for Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks on Steam.

More info regarding this update and special event will be disclosed in the following weeks.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader gets a major balance patch
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, a game we really enjoyed and gave a 4 out of 5 star rating to, just got a huge free update – version 1.5!
This update includes major overhauls to several character backstories, plus over 45 new items to find, 25 new talents to master, and improvements to rare and exotic weapons. Your Familiars will also have new looks based on your Conviction, alongside a huge number of balance adjustments and bug fixes – and that’s just the beginning!

Additionally, the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 11, 2025.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy’s Alpha Test gets a date
Owlcat Games, the creators of Rogue Trader, will begin testing the alpha version of their next role-playing game, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, on December 16, 2025.
I noticed that to get into the Alpha Test, you need to have bought either the Developer’s Digital Pack or the Collector’s Edition directly from the game’s official website.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (through Windows and Steam). A specific release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 releases free demo on Steam
A demo for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2, the follow-up to the popular 2018 tactical game about the Adeptus Mechanicus, is now available on Steam for a limited period.
The demo is only available until October 28, 2025, giving you just three days – including today – to try it out and decide if you’ll fight with the Adeptus Mechanicus or the Necrons.
As an analyst, I’m tracking the upcoming release of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. It’s planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC – available through both Windows and Steam. Currently, a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The Space Wolves join the fight in Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge
Warpforge, the digital card game based on Warhammer 40,000, received an update on October 23, 2025, adding Logan Grimnar and other famous Space Marines from the Space Wolves chapter as playable commanders.
Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge is available on PC via Windows and Steam, Android, iOS, and macOS.
Lion El’Jonson and the Dark Angels enter the fray in Warhammer the Horus Heresy: Legions
Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions, a free-to-play card game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, is adding the Dark Angels Space Marines and their leader, Lion El’Jonson, as a new playable faction. They’re the first of three new factions being released over the next few weeks.

Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is available on Android and iOS.
What a treat Warhammer fans are having this Halloween

And there you have every Warhammer video game announcement for Warhammer Day.
I’m especially excited about two recent announcements: the upcoming Sister of Battle playable character in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, and the 1.5 update for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
I really enjoyed the first Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, and the upcoming sequel looks even better. Now you can play as a Sister of Battle, which is exciting because they’re known for their extreme methods – especially their love of using fire to destroy enemies of the Imperium.

The latest update to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is huge, especially with the major changes made to character backgrounds for the Astra Militarum Commander, Ministorum Priest, Commissar, and Navy Officer origins.
These characters are significantly more powerful and enjoyable to play now than they were when the game first came out.
The Commissar has received a significant and unique update. Now, instead of just executing failing soldiers, they can actually *boost* their allies’ performance by shooting them – a change that perfectly reflects the harsh methods Commissars are known for in the Warhammer 40,000 setting.
I’m really excited to see everything in this update before the next big expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader comes out. I’m also looking forward to fighting Chaos cultists and Daemons in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 when it releases in 2026.
