This lengthy segment highlights the group’s unique blend of past and future origins, boasts several famous guest appearances, involves a quick interaction with a Super Ape, and pays tribute to previous Fantastic Four adaptations.
The video features Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, who’s teaching “Fantastic Science with Mr. Fantastic” to a group of unenthusiastic students. In the initial sequences, Sue Storm (portrayed by Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) demonstrate their abilities to safeguard New York City. In an artistic depiction, The Thing, in a comical twist, utters his famous phrase, “It’s time for some serious smashing,” in a cartoonish style.
In one scene, there’s a confrontation involving one of Red Ghost’s super-apes, but John Malkovich’s Red Ghost himself is absent. He was deleted during the final editing process.
Additionally, the scene showcases brief appearances by Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, Jay Underwood, and Michael Bailey Smith – these actors played the team in an unpublished Fantastic Four movie directed by Roger Corman during the ’90s.
Under the guidance of director Matt Shakman, this movie is based in a world reminiscent of the 1960s and centers around the main characters, known as the team, as they encounter Galactus (portrayed by Ralph Ineson) and his emissary, the Silver Surfer (played by Julia Garner). The supporting cast includes Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Additionally, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made a notable appearance at the film’s premiere as Simon Williams/Wonder Man.
On July 25, 2025, Marvel Studios will debut “The Fantastic Four: Taking Their First Steps” in cinemas across the United States. Predictions suggest that this movie could potentially gross between $125 million and $145 million during its initial US weekend screenings.
