It’s amazing when dreams come true, and that just happened to streamer Gothalion! Something he wished for almost two years ago finally became a reality.
A No Man’s Sky player shared an idea for a new feature on X (formerly Twitter) in September 2024, and the game’s developers, Hello Games, just added it to the game in their latest update.
Gothalion jokingly suggested that No Man’s Sky would be perfect with a feature similar to Pokemon, allowing players to catch, train, and battle creatures they discover in the game. He proposed adding an arena to the Space Anomaly and directly appealed to the game’s creator, Sean, to consider the idea.
It seems Sean Murray and his team proved they could deliver, and the new Xeno Arena update for the game demonstrates just that.
It was a satisfying conclusion: Murray replied to Gothalion’s post with just two words – “We did it.”
We don’t know if a post from 2024 had anything to do with Hello Games creating the Pokémon-inspired update, or if they were already planning it, but it’s still cool to see it happen.
The update is available now, free for all players, and you can read more about it here.
