When Sophie Turner was initially cast as Lara Croft in the new Prime Video Tomb Raider series, some fans were surprised, as she wasn’t the obvious choice for the role. However, those concerns are likely to disappear now that we’ve seen the first images of her as the character – she looks fantastic and incredibly fit!
Turner recently talked about the training she’s been doing for the Tomb Raider series, but this is our first chance to really see what that will look like on screen. She absolutely looks ready to take on any challenge. Get a look, via Turner’s Instagram, at the new Lara Croft:

Taylor Turner’s portrayal of Lara Croft feels like a direct translation of the original Tomb Raider games. While recent games and adaptations have featured a reimagined Lara Croft, the new Prime Video series appears to be returning to the iconic, classic look – complete with dual pistols – that first made the character famous.
This is probably the most visually faithful adaptation of the game we’ve ever seen. Previous attempts, like the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider films, didn’t quite capture the game’s look, but this version really aims for that authentic feel.
The first images of Lara Croft have been revealed alongside the official announcement that filming for the new Tomb Raider series has begun.
