Update [Wed 18th Feb 2026, 1:45pm]:
A developer from Wildlight Entertainment, one of the few still working at the struggling company Highguard, has explained why the game’s website is currently unavailable.
He mentioned on Discord that the page needs updating and streamlining, but with a smaller team, the studio is prioritizing getting new content and updates out for their game, so it’s not a current focus.
Obviously it’s not a good look overall, but perhaps not the death knell some were predicting.
Although some people online are celebrating Highguard’s failure, we’re disappointed to see another game struggle and ultimately close down.
After significant layoffs last week, the future doesn’t look bright for Wildlight Entertainment’s newest project.
I noticed yesterday morning, and it’s still happening now, but the game’s website went down! It’s been offline for almost a full day, and a lot of us fans are starting to worry.
The game is still working, but its website is down, displaying only the logo and a message saying it’s “currently unavailable.” There’s no information about when the website will be back online.
A new report from GameFile shows that Tencent, a major Chinese gaming company, invested heavily in the recently released first-person shooter. The game was developed by former employees of Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind popular titles like Titanfall and Apex Legends.
It’s strange this information was hidden for so long, and it now appears the company won’t make a profit on this investment.
It’s looking pretty bleak for Wildlight Entertainment’s game. While they say they’re still working on improvements with a small team, the player count on Steam has dropped dramatically – peaking at only 1,507 players in the last day.
While the game might be performing well on consoles, that doesn’t seem very probable. It wouldn’t be shocking if the game is taken offline in the next few weeks.
