The Game Awards is more than just an awards show. While it celebrates the best games of the year, it’s also known for revealing exciting news and updates about upcoming games, all thanks to host Geoff Keighley’s December event.
It’s debatable whether this is a good thing or not, but with so many people watching and major companies involved, we expect this trend to continue.
As The Game Awards approach, developers often begin revealing what new game content they’ll be showcasing alongside the award presentations. We now know one game that will be featured at the event.
The game is Exodus, itself revealed at Geoff’s show two years ago.
The sci-fi action adventure RPG has confirmed its attendance at The Game Awards 2025:
In this game, starring Matthew McConaughey, you take on the role of the Traveler, an ordinary scavenger tasked with journeying through time to protect humankind from the Celestials.
The main challenge is that traveling through time ages everyone else rapidly, while only affecting you momentarily. This means your choices will have significant and lasting effects on the world as you play.
As you explore the galaxy, you’ll gather a loyal crew who are under your command.
It sounds like a combination of Mass Effect and Interstellar.
At any rate, the game is debuting a brand new trailer at this year’s Game Awards.
It’s the first of many that will confirm their attendance ahead of the show in mid-December.
