Horizon is expanding into a large-scale, online action role-playing game, but it will only be available on mobile devices and PCs.
Yes, Horizon Steel Frontiers won’t be released for PS5, much to the disappointment of fans.
The biggest complaint about this game seems to be that it isn’t being released on the PlayStation 5.
Developer NCSOFT has now given us some sort of answer, and it sounds like it comes down to Sony.
During a recent interview with 4Gamer, the developers of Steel Frontiers were questioned about why the game isn’t available on PlayStation 5. Here’s a translation of their response:
Many people have said the same thing today. We’re eager to move forward with this – there’s no real downside for NCSOFT – but we need to keep talking, as the final decision isn’t ours to make.
NCSOFT has acknowledged the demand for a PS5 version of the game and is now planning to develop it for Sony’s console.
However, unless they get the all-clear from SIE, it ain’t happening.
Horizon Steel Frontiers will probably release on both mobile and PC, and if it does well, a PlayStation 5 version could follow.
