Now that we’ve seen the first six minutes of season 2 on Wednesday and had sneak peeks at the upcoming episodes, Netflix has released the highly-anticipated official trailer for the second part of the series.
The series will come back in August with an appropriate dark school theme for Jenna Ortega’s main character, as she describes it as “going back to the site of a crime” when her family arrives at Nevermore Academy, according to the trailer’s opening scenes.
However, Wednesday wasn’t quite anticipating the beginning of the school year as planned, as it became evident that students were captivated by her, eagerly requesting autographs and adorning her classroom door with posters and heartfelt messages.
Could we think of anything worse for Wednesday?

As the eerie, black tears flow on Wednesday, it becomes evident to Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, that something is definitely wrong – and she’s spot on with her suspicion.
On Wednesdays, there are recurring images suggesting that Enid (Emma Myers) meets an untimely end. Despite her growing abilities, should we rely entirely on these visions?
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement upon getting a good glimpse of the enchanting character portrayed by Joanna Lumley – none other than Grandmama Hester Frump! Undeniably, she exudes an irresistible charm and fabulosity that leaves me in awe.
Observing someone arrive at a lavish gathering by gondola and later engage in clay pigeon shooting hints that this character, Grandmama, may quickly win hearts.

Apart from Lumley, there are several fresh faces joining the cast for the second season of Wednesday. It has been officially announced that Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, and Lady Gaga will make appearances as well.
The trailer offers a glimpse into Steve Buscemi’s role as Barry Dort, the enthusiastic principal of Nevermore, who struggles to hide his eagerness upon encountering Wednesday.
In conversation with Tudum, co-creator Alfred Gough described Principal Dort as embodying a sense of pride among outcasts within the school setting.
In this setting, Weems aimed to foster unity between mainstream individuals (normies) and outsiders. Notably, there was an Outreach Day where Professor Thornhill, a teacher from the mainstream, was invited.
At that location, he employed everything against her, tarnishing her reputation and asserting that outcasts must hold their heads high. The underlying message seems to be, ‘It’s for our own sake.’ It’s intriguing to see such a dynamic introduced at the school.
Besides this revelation, Netflix has additionally announced that the team responsible for the popular show will embark on a global promotional journey. This tour is expected to visit countries such as Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Korea, and the United States.
Fans can keep up with the Doom Tour by following our official social media platforms on Wednesdays, where we’ll offer a behind-the-scenes look at all the action.
In conversation regarding the series, Miles Millar, co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer shared with Tudum: “We aimed to present fresh challenges for Wednesday. She believes she’s got everything figured out, only to realize that dealing with people isn’t as straightforward as she assumed.
The trailer definitely offers a sneak peek into some upcoming drama and surprises, but fans are likely to eagerly anticipate the release of the initial episodes in August.
After that, another group will appear in September, featuring celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Frances O’Connor who are scheduled to make special appearances at that time.
In the second season, Wednesday finds herself juggling familial ties, friendships, and familiar foes, leading to another year filled with intriguingly eerie and quirky chaos.
Equipped with her distinctive sharp humor and understated allure, Wednesday finds herself immersed in an icy, enigmatic supernatural case.
