Season 3 of Wednesday is bringing back familiar faces from the Beetlejuice movies, as another actor who’s worked with Tim Burton is joining the show.
Winona Ryder is joining the third season of the popular Netflix show, Wednesday. She’ll be acting alongside Jenna Ortega, who previously played her on-screen daughter in the new Beetlejuice movie. Filming for the new season is now underway near Dublin, Ireland.
Exact details of Ryder’s role in the series are yet to be confirmed.
The new movie will reunite Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega, who previously worked together on the series Wednesday. Burton will again direct and oversee the film, and the original Wednesday writers, Al Gough and Miles Millar, are returning to write the script.
Winona Ryder first played Lydia Deetz in the 1988 film Beetlejuice, portraying a teenager fascinated with death. She later reprised the role as an adult in the sequel.
As a huge Tim Burton fan, I’ve always loved Winona Ryder in his films. Of course, everyone remembers Beetlejuice and now the upcoming sequel, but she’s been a consistent presence in his work for decades – like in Edward Scissorhands back in 1990, and even more recently in his charming Frankenweenie from 2012.

The cast also welcomes Chris Sarandon, known for ‘The Princess Bride,’ Noah Taylor from ‘Peaky Blinders,’ Oscar Morgan (‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’), Kennedy Moyer (‘Roofman’), and several other talented actors.
We’re thrilled to announce the start of production for Season Three of Nevermore Academy, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back,” said Gough and Millar.
We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing cast and crew for their dedication to bringing the darkness to life. And thank you to our fans – we appreciate your enthusiasm and all your wild theories, which have truly fueled our imaginations! This season, prepare to meet new characters and uncover some long-buried Addams Family mysteries. Consider yourself warned!
New actors have joined the cast alongside Eva Green, who will play Ophelia, Morticia Addams’ sister, in the series.
I was so relieved when Green confirmed that Rosaline Rotwood, Lady Gaga’s character, isn’t actually Ophelia in disguise! There was a fan theory going around, and honestly, it didn’t seem right. It’s good to have that settled – Rosaline is her own person, and I’m excited to see where her story goes.
Joining Jenna Ortega in season 3 are returning cast members like Emma Myers as Enid, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley as Hester, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and Fred Armisen as Fester.
