2023 witnessed a writers’ strike that impacted various productions across the board. If there are no such strikes occurring between seasons 2 and 3, the interval between them may be slightly reduced.
In July 2025, it was officially announced that Season 3 of Wednesday would premiere, even before Season 2 had aired. Co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough expressed their intention for Season 3: “Our aim for every season, including Season 3, is to make it the finest version of Wednesday we can possibly create.
