Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath have officially welcomed a new phase in their lives.

Olivia and Ethan Plath, stars of the TLC show Welcome to Plathville, have officially divorced. Court records show the divorce was finalized in Minnesota on February 25th, according to TopMob News.

Olivia and Ethan, both 27, revealed they ended their five-year marriage in October 2023, but court documents showed they had actually been living separately since February 25, 2022.

As part of their divorce, Ethan and Olivia agreed not to provide any financial support to each other. Ethan will keep certain investments and his collection of classic cars, while Olivia will receive her company, Sunshine Media, and their 2016 Subaru Outback.

Ethan Plath, the oldest child of Kim and Barry Plath – the family featured on TLC’s Welcome to Plathville – previously explained his breakup with Olivia in an Instagram post from October 2023. He said they had both tried their best, but ultimately, the relationship just didn’t work out.

He explained that they often wanted different things in life, which created distance between them. He expressed his continued care for Olivia and wished her well in the future.

Olivia thought about her history with Ethan, recalling a short separation they experienced before getting married in October 2018, and another brief time apart in 2021.

She reflected on our time at 18, remembering it with mixed feelings – a time of naive dreams about a lasting future. In an October 2023 Instagram post, she explained that the person you choose as a partner shows what kind of life you hope to build, and she admits she didn’t yet understand herself or her goals back then.

She explained that she’s started a lifelong process of examining her beliefs, letting go of what doesn’t serve her, and creating a new foundation for her life, and that this will remain a key focus for her going forward.

But despite their breakup, Olivia was grateful for her time with Ethan. 

She acknowledged that they had shared some wonderful times together, and wanted to cherish those memories. They had fallen in love as kids, and now, as adults, were choosing to move forward separately. “Thank you for everything, Ethan,” she said. “I truly wish you all the best.”
