Wendy Williams Makes Rare Public Appearance Amid Health Battles

Wendy Williams is honoring the ultimate hot topic: herself.

Previously known as a daytime TV host, this individual, who received court-assigned care in 2022, made an appearance for a late birthday bash at the famous Peter Luger Steakhouse located in New York City on the 20th of July.

During the outing, Wendy, aged 61, showed a broad smile while sporting a stylish green and white minidress with patterns. She paired it with a red leather handbag, Gucci belt, large sunglasses, and her distinctive silver “W” necklace as accessories. Joining her was her niece Alex Finnie, along with Alex’s partner Eric Houston, for this family adventure together.

Three days prior, Wendy (mother of Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, with her ex-husband Kevin Hunter) spent another night out in New York City, strolling hand-in-hand into Delmonico’s with her former producer Suzanne Bass. In a video obtained by TMZ, Wendy expressed that for her birthday, she desired to be “released from guardianship.

In 2021, the well-known TV personality temporarily left her self-titled talk show due to ongoing health issues. Sherri Shepherd filled in as the host until the show ended in 2022. Two years later, it was disclosed that Wendy had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, which were described as challenging obstacles in her life at the time of diagnosis.

However, Wendy firmly disputes the diagnoses, clarifying matters following her hospitalization in March. In a phone conversation with Good Day New York from the hospital, she asserted that she successfully passed mental competency tests with excellent results.

A few days passed, and Wendy reached out to “The View” to provide more details about her circumstances, firmly reiterating her sound state of mind.

As a proponent of personal autonomy and wellness, I made the conscious decision to seek an impartial assessment regarding any perceived limitations in my abilities. Frankly, I find it outrageous that such claims are being made against me. In no uncertain terms, let me assure you, I am not incapacitated.
