Isn’t it fascinating that we’re living in a time when classic ’80s anime series like Space Adventure Cobra are now receiving complete video game remakes?
In approximately one month, “The Awakening” will be available for PlayStation 5, drawing inspiration from the iconic space opera that debuted in 1982. Despite the fact that its gameplay has not yet completely won us over, we maintain a positive outlook, believing it could still make a lasting impact.
Much of what you find here leans toward basic side-scrolling gameplay, but the character’s Psychogun is significantly incorporated. This tool enables the character to draw paths for his bullets, solving puzzles and finishing combat scenarios.

Ready with the cigar and the Psychogun? You’re all set! Gear up to battle the Pirate Guild, reexperience the excitement of Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening, arriving on PS5 on 26th August! Jump into a high-speed action-platformer in a captivating sci-fi world. Employ your tools to navigate out of perilous situations and perfect your Psychogun skills for enhanced shot precision.
In our current setup, we’re finding that the character size appears too tiny on the screen. While this adds a sense of grandeur, many of the backgrounds lack appeal, except for the depictions of the futuristic cityscapes.
In the initial unveiling, it was noted that both PS4 and PS5 versions were planned, but the latest trailer only features PS5. We will reach out to the game’s publisher for clarification about the situation regarding the PS4 version.
