What Ben Affleck Thinks of Jennifer Lopez in Kiss of the Spider Woman

Ben Affleck knows Jennifer Lopez’s performance is going to be a hit on the town.

Ben, a producer on *Kiss of the Spider Woman*, got to see his former wife give what he considers one of her greatest performances as Ingrid Luna.

He raved about Jennifer’s performance at the movie’s New York City premiere on October 6th, telling TopMob News she was ‘incredible’ and ‘fabulous.’ He explained the role was exceptionally challenging because it required masterful singing, dancing, and acting, with no room for error. The film’s complex blend of tones also demanded a high level of skill from the performer.

Okay, seriously, J Lo is just incredible. I mean, she does *everything* and manages to be flawless while doing it! I was completely blown away by her in the movie – she’s absolutely amazing, truly spectacular, and I’m honestly pinching myself that I even got to be a small part of this whole thing. She’s just…wonderful!

In fact, the musical-thriller was a long time coming for the Selena star.

Ben said the role seemed perfect for her, like something she was naturally meant to do. He added that she’d always dreamed of working in that genre.

It was a privilege for Ben, too, whose production company with Matt Damon helped fund the film.

When we launched Artists Equity, our goal was to fund and create films we strongly believed in – projects with genuine potential that others might overlook. I think the film industry has become more cautious lately, with fewer people going to theaters and a lot of other contributing factors.

It was an easy decision to cast Jennifer—Ben had just finalized his divorce from her after three years of marriage in January—along with Diego Luna and Tonatiuh, and to work with director Bill Condon. Ben said he’s very proud of the project.

The 53-year-old actor is confident audiences will love the movie, saying it’s “wonderful” and that people will have a big reaction to it. He’s excited for everyone to see it.

It’s not surprising to hear Ben speak highly of Jennifer, even though they’ve had a complicated relationship. Following their second split, Ben – who shares three children, Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13), with Jennifer Garner – publicly praised her. Jennifer, in turn, is a mother to 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.

In April, Ben Affleck told Entertainment Tonight that Jennifer Lopez is “spectacular.” He praised her as a wonderful mother to his children, with whom he has a strong and continuing relationship. He also expressed his love for her children, describing them as wonderful people, and spoke highly of Lopez herself, calling her a person of great integrity whom he deeply admires and appreciates.
