While family ties are often considered strong, the connection between Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, is even more powerful.
For years, rumors circulated about a strained relationship between Victoria and David Beckham and their 26-year-old son. He recently confirmed on January 19th that the divide between them is unfixable.
The founder of Cloud23 explained in a series of Instagram Stories that heâd remained quiet for years, wanting to keep certain issues private. However, he said his parents and their representatives have repeatedly contacted the media, forcing him to respond and correct what he called false statements that have been published. (TopMob News has contacted David and Victoria Beckhamâs representatives for a response.)
Brooklyn alleges that his parents have consistently tried to sabotage his relationship with his wife, starting even before their April 2022 wedding. Despite Victoria Beckham publicly expressing her fondness for her future daughter-in-law in 2020, calling her “lovely, warm, and wonderful,” Brooklyn claims their attempts to undermine the relationship have been ongoing.
Brooklyn wrote that the designer unexpectedly told Nicola she wouldnât make her wedding dress just before the Palm Beach, Florida ceremony, even though Nicola was excited about wearing one of her designs. This left Nicola scrambling to find a new dress. Nicola later told Variety she chose Valentino Couture instead of a Victoria Beckham design because the designerâs workshop couldnât handle the work.
Brooklyn claimed they even attempted to prevent her from using the Beckham surname.
In the weeks leading up to my wedding, my parents constantly pressured me â even offering money â to give up the rights to my name. This would have impacted not only me, but also my wife and any children we might have. They insisted I sign the agreement before the wedding so it could take effect, and when I refused, it caused financial issues and damaged our relationship permanently.
A concern was raised about the couple wanting to seat their grandmothers â referred to as “My Nanny Sandra and Nicolaâs Nanny” â at their table, as both grandmothers were widows.
Brooklyn explained that while both her parents sat at tables near ours, her mother actually accused her of being evil.
According to reports, the Beckhams weren’t making a special effort to include Nicola. Someone from my family even told me the night before the wedding that Nicola wasnât considered âbloodâ or âfamily.â
The wedding wasn’t without its emotional moments, and Brooklyn finally explained what happened during the often-discussed dance floor incident.
Brooklyn explained that his mother unexpectedly took over their first dance as a married couple. They had carefully planned to dance to a romantic song by Marc Anthony, but his mother stepped in and danced instead.
He was brought on stage by the Grammy-winning artist, expecting to share a moment with his wife. Instead, his mother appeared and began dancing with him in a way that made him deeply uncomfortable and humiliated in front of the entire audience. He said it was the most awkward and embarrassing experience of his life.
That’s what led the couple to host another event last August at the Peltz family’s home in Westchester County, New York.
Brooklyn explained they wanted to renew their vows to make fresh, happy memories of their wedding day, instead of feeling stressed or embarrassed.
It’s proving difficult for him to repair his relationship with his family â his parents, and siblings Romeo, Cruz, and Harper Beckham.
Brooklyn explained that ever since they began asserting themselves with their family, their parents have relentlessly attacked them, both in private conversations and through the media. They also mentioned Cruz’s previous statement about being blocked on social media, adding that even their brothers were used to attack them online before unexpectedly blocking them this past summer.
Until that point, Brooklyn detailed, they’d still been trying to keep it in the family.Â
Even though he accused Victoria of deliberately trying to upset him by inviting women from his past into their lives, they still traveled to his hometown to celebrate his friend David’s extravagant 50th birthday party.
Brooklyn wrote that David wouldn’t agree to meet unless it was at his large birthday party, which would be a big public event. When he finally agreed to see her, he insisted that her wife, Nicola, wasn’t included, which Brooklyn felt was very hurtful.
Brooklyn explained that when her family moved to the United States, they completely cut her off. Additionally, Victoria declined a request from Nicola to help rescue dogs affected by the large fires in Los Angeles last January.
As such, Brooklyn is ending his dogged pursuit to reconcile with his parents and siblings.Â
He firmly stated he didn’t want to make up with his family. “This isn’t about being controlled,” he explained, “it’s about finally asserting myself.”
He feels his parents have always carefully managed how the family is portrayed in the media. From staged social media posts to carefully curated public appearances and superficial relationships, he grew up in a world of manufactured image. He’s recently witnessed firsthand how far theyâll go to spread falsehoods in the press â often hurting others in the process â to maintain this carefully constructed public persona. However, heâs confident that the truth will eventually be revealed.

He strongly denied claims that his wife controls him, explaining that he’s actually been controlled by his parents for most of his life. He shared that he grew up with severe anxiety, but since becoming independent from his family, he’s finally found peace and relief. He now wakes up each day feeling grateful for the life he’s built.
He’s no longer willing to participate in unwanted media events. He feels it’s unfair to be expected to prioritize ‘Brand Beckham’ â to immediately stop what he’s doing for a public appearance â even if it interferes with his actual work.
He concluded by saying that he and his wife simply want a peaceful, private life, and happiness for their future family â a life free from the influence of public image, the press, or attempts to control them.
Now that Brooklyn is planning his future with Nicola, let’s revisit the origins of the family disagreements.
While not a strict requirement, many people expected Nicola Peltz Beckham to wear a wedding dress designed by her future mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, when she married Brooklyn Beckham in April 2022 at her familyâs Palm Beach estate.

Nicola shared on Instagram that she was visiting her grandmother, who sadly passed away less than a month after the visit.
Nicola couldn’t make it to Victoria Beckham’s birthday party, so she shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my beautiful mother-in-law! I’m so sad I can’t be there to celebrate with you and give you a hug. Sending you all my love from me and my nanny. Following reports that Brooklyn and Nicola Beckham have retained legal counsel â the same lawyer who previously worked with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle â a source confirmed to TopMob News that they do have a lawyer, but not to handle public relations or manage their reputation.
Instead, they’ve brought in Jenny Afi, a lawyer from the U.K. firm Schillings, to correct inaccuracies and fight the spread of false information.
Although the law firm represents the Sussexes â and had David and Victoria Beckham as wedding guests in 2018 â a source confirmed there’s no link between this situation and Meghan and Harry. The source emphasized that Schillings is a well-regarded firm with many different clients.
The source pointed out that this situation perfectly illustrated the need for a lawyer â to correct false information and ensure the truth is known.
David received a knighthood in November 2025, but Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t say anything publicly about it. They also weren’t seen at the MLS Cup final in December 2025 when David’s team, Inter Miami CF, wonâonly Victoria, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper were there to celebrate.
In late December 2025, rumors spread that David and Victoria Beckham had blocked their son Brooklyn on Instagram. Cruz Beckham quickly dismissed these rumors, confirming they weren’t true.

Brooklyn Beckham chose to spend Christmas 2025 with his wife Nicola’s family, including her parents Claudia Heffner Peltz and Nelson Peltz, rather than celebrating with his own family. His younger brother, Cruz, stayed home for a cozy holiday with their parents.
David recently shared a look back at 2025 with photos of his year spent with family and friends. Notably absent from the pictures were his oldest son and Nicola, Brooklynâs wife, fueling ongoing speculation about a family disagreement.
An hour later, David posted old photos of himself with each of his and Victoriaâs children, captioning a black-and-white picture with Brooklyn, âI love you all so much.â
In January 2026, Brooklyn posted a detailed message on Instagram explaining his difficult relationship with his family.
He stated he has no desire to make amends with his family. He explained that heâs asserting his independence and finally prioritizing his own needs, something he hasnât done before.
In a recent post, Brooklyn accused his parents of manipulating the media to shape the story of their family. He also claimed they prioritize the “Beckham brand” over everything else and have actively tried to sabotage his relationship with Nicola.
He mentioned heâs always struggled with anxiety, but says he now feels peaceful and relieved since creating distance from his family.
