Fans might have expected some tension between Eva Longoria and her ex-husband, Tony Parker, but it seems they’re on good terms. Longoria recently shared a photo on Instagram showing Parker filming footage for her series, Eva Longoria: Searching for France. She playfully captioned it, “Look who came to visit… the one and only TP.”
It’s a far cry from almost two decades ago when their divorce was a public spectacle. Longoria first met Parker after her divorce from Tyler Christopher. She and her father were invited to meet Parker and his San Antonio Spurs teammates after a game in 2004. Interestingly, despite the popularity of Desperate Housewives, Parker hadn’t actually watched the show at the time – Longoria once told Oprah Winfrey he was the last person on earth to do so.
He was already quite experienced when they got married in France in July 2007, shortly after his team, the Spurs, won the NBA championship.
Parker shared with CBS News before the wedding that it had been a wonderful year and she was looking forward to enjoying it. Despite rumors of infidelity during their marriage, the couple remained strong together. In a 2009 interview with Allure, Longoria addressed the gossip, stating she didn’t allow tabloid stories to define her and confirmed they were not expecting a child, separating, or being unfaithful.

Even after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show months after their third wedding anniversary, there was no indication that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were heading for a split. Longoria joked on the October 2010 episode that their marriage was like a Hollywood milestone, and they were on pace to last longer than most celebrity unions – “We’re halfway there,” she said. However, just a month later, Longoria filed for divorce, stating that while they deeply loved each other and wished each other well, she was also requesting to legally remove Parker’s last name from her own.
They announced their separation citing “irreconcilable differences,” but rumors surfaced suggesting he had been communicating with another woman. His representatives denied any affair. After their divorce was finalized in January 2011, he publicly stated he was focused on moving on with his life.
Look, going through a divorce is never easy, but you pick yourself up and keep moving forward – that’s what I’ve learned. Life throws all sorts of things at you, and honestly, we all make mistakes. It’s part of being human! I’ve realized no one is perfect, and the important thing is to learn from those experiences and just…keep going. It’s not always sunshine and roses, but you adapt and you grow.

Eva Longoria has spoken about the emotional impact of her divorce from Tony Parker, explaining she felt a loss of identity. She told Piers Morgan that being “Mrs. Parker” had become a significant part of who she was, and the split left her questioning who she was without that role. Despite the heartbreak, Longoria insists she has no ill will towards Parker and cherishes the time they shared. She emphasized that trust is crucial in any relationship, regardless of the professions involved. Longoria and Parker simply wanted different things in life, and despite their best efforts, the marriage couldn’t be saved. She maintains that Parker is a good person and she doesn’t resent him for moving on. While she remains private about the specific reasons for their divorce out of respect for him, Longoria shared that they still maintain a relationship and remain in each other’s lives.
The brief period of communication between Eva Longoria and Tony Parker didn’t last. When Longoria appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2011, she confirmed they were no longer in contact, but she did share what she learned from their divorce.
Longoria explained that she realized women shouldn’t define themselves through their husbands or marriages. Despite societal pressures that often position women as inferior, she emphasized the importance of self-reliance and independence, regardless of a relationship. Ultimately, she developed a stronger connection with herself.
In a 2012 interview on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, Longoria reflected on their eight-year marriage, noting it coincided with the start of her successful career and wealth accumulation. The divorce left her feeling like she’d lost her identity, forcing her to redefine herself and understand that her personal growth wasn’t dependent on the relationship.
Parker married Axelle Francine in 2014, shortly after the birth of their son Josh, who is now 12. They later had another son, Liam, now 9, but announced their separation in 2020. Eva Longoria married José “Pepe” Bastón in 2016, and they share a 7-year-old son named Santiago. Longoria described Bastón as her soulmate in a 2016 interview with Ocean Drive, telling the magazine he’s everything she wanted and didn’t even know she needed—kind, compassionate, and handsome.
