The documentary includes interviews with Khloé Kardashian, Odom’s former teammates, and his family, who share how the traumatic event impacted their lives as well as his.
Learn about Lamar Odom’s story in the newest episode of Netflix’s Untold series.
What happened to Lamar Odom?

In 2015, Lamar Odom was found unconscious at a brothel near Las Vegas and hospitalized after a drug overdose.
Lamar Odom revealed he had six heart attacks and twelve strokes. He then fell into a coma and needed life support, but thankfully woke up after three days. Unfortunately, the experience left him unable to walk.
Odom described waking up from a coma and frantically pulling out the tubes connected to his neck, as shown in the documentary.
“I still got the scar from it,” he said.
After he was hospitalized, Khloé Kardashian shared that she and his family were focused on helping him regain his ability to walk and be active.
Odom explained in the documentary that it was likely more difficult for her, as he was unable to express his gratitude or show any emotion – he couldn’t even bring himself to cry.
Where is Lamar Odom now?

Lamar Odom, now 46, has been sober since January 28, 2026, and has stated he hasn’t used drugs or alcohol since then.
Lamar Odom told USA Today that doctors call his survival incredible, explaining it’s considered medically impossible to live through 12 strokes and six heart attacks, especially while in a coma. He says he’s just thankful to be alive and takes each day as it comes.
In 2019, Lamar Odom re-emerged into the public eye with an appearance on Dancing with the Stars, followed by another appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2022.
His latest reality TV stint was in season 6 of The Kardashians in 2025 when he reunited with Khloé.
“To me, it really didn’t go well. I felt like I was under attack,” Odom told Page Six.
He went on to say that he couldn’t dismiss the pain he’d caused her, or what she’d been through because of him. She had been incredibly supportive, especially during a very difficult time when he was at his lowest point. He acknowledged it wasn’t easy for her, particularly while he was recovering.
