What It Really Takes to Pull Off the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is more than just lights, cameras and angels.

Creating a heavenly atmosphere with so many models takes significant effort, funding, and physically demanding work—especially when you add angel wings to the mix! Creative director Adam Selman can certainly attest to that.

He explained to TopMob News that the show is incredibly well-coordinated. He wants the audience to feel like they’re on a fast-moving train, with each segment seamlessly flowing into the next. He described it as a really fun and energetic experience.

And it doesn’t come cheap, either.

I connect all the different parts of the show – the musicians, the models, the clothes being made, the music itself, and how the stage looks. It requires a lot of effort and resources, but it’s all incredibly exciting and positive.

As the Victoria’s Secret team prepared for their annual show, the models—including Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Behati Prinsloo—started arriving backstage around 8 a.m., according to a schedule obtained by TopMob News.

Despite arriving at the event 11 hours before the fashion show began, Dylan Sprouse and his wife, Barbara Palvin, still managed to have some fun. Sprouse told TopMob they spent the day FaceTiming each other, even though Palvin wowed the audience with two different outfits during the show.

There’s a significant gap between events,” the former *Suite Life of Zack and Cody* star explained. “They’ve been getting ready all day, and I had a lot of downtime—I actually saw her during lunch.”

Models begin preparing for the event weeks, even months, in advance, just like the people working behind the scenes. Dylan mentioned that Barbara, who had recently broken her foot, had been training for a long time to be ready.

The supermodel recently told *Us Weekly* she chose smaller, one-pound wings this year because of an injury. This is quite different from last year, when she wore a much larger, 40-pound wing accessory covered in mirror feathers.

It’s not surprising that the models were preparing for the runway both at home and at the gym, especially with several of them wearing large angel wings. Alessandra Ambrosio, who previously mentioned on *Late Night with Seth Meyers* that her accessories from a 2011 show weighed almost 60 pounds, shared her pre-show routine: cardio, weight training, and a careful diet.

She shared on Instagram last October, while enjoying avocado toast, that she makes an effort to stay healthy. She plans to get back into her regular workout routine soon, as it’s important for preparing for the show. When she’s working on the show, she prioritizes eating lean protein and lots of vegetables.
