What Jennifer Lopez’s Kids Max & Emme Really Think About Her Career

Jennifer Lopez‘s kids aren’t getting loud with any advice for their mom.

Jennifer Lopez recently shared that her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme (whose father is Marc Anthony), are more focused on their own lives than on her famous career.

Jennifer recently shared with TopMob News that her kids don’t really focus on her career. After the first show of her Las Vegas residency on December 30th, she explained that they’re mostly just interested in her coming home for dinner. They want her to separate work from family time.

Indeed, the teenagers are understandably much more interested in J.Lo’s role as their mom.

“‘Mom, are you going to be here on the weekend?'” she teased. “‘Can we do this? Can we do that?'”

Even though her children are talented musicians, they’re currently pursuing other interests. Jennifer Lopez explained, ‘It’s a completely different path for them, and it’s very independent of my own career.’

Although Emme and Max won’t be joining Jennifer Lopez onstage during her new Las Vegas show, ‘Up All Night Live’—her first time performing in the city since 2016—they’ll be in the audience supporting her.

The 56-year-old said they were at rehearsal yesterday, and they’re continuing to show their support today and tomorrow. She described them as devoted and kind fans who are very proud of her.

Jennifer, who finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck in January after two years of marriage, is thankful for the support she’s received as she begins her new concert series – a performance run she hasn’t done in almost ten years.

She explained that this show is completely different from what came before, and that was intentional. The show needed to change to appeal to the Las Vegas audience, which is incredibly diverse and comes to see a wide variety of performances. She keeps this in mind when creating each show.

The actress known for Kiss of the Spider Woman isn’t shy about speaking her mind while performing. She’s even responded to criticism about her revealing stage outfits, famously telling her audience, “If you had this body, you’d be naked, too!”

For Jennifer, the banter has been an exciting addition to her performance.

I’m just having a lot of fun right now,” she said. “I don’t feel like I need to prove anything anymore, or push myself to achieve specific things.”

She explained that she feels free to be authentic now. She’s changed a lot in the past decade, and isn’t the same person she was when she first did the show. She makes sure to point that out at the beginning of her performance, letting the audience know they’re seeing the current version of her.

I’m so excited to see Jennifer dance again tonight! It got me thinking about all her incredible style moments, so I’m taking a trip down memory lane to revisit some of her most iconic looks.
