Joseph Duggar is getting support from his sister-in-law Anna Duggar.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this story closely. Before being transferred to Florida to address very serious allegations – charges he denies – Jim Bob Duggar reportedly received a supportive email. Interestingly, it came from the wife of his son, Josh Duggar, who is currently serving time in prison. It’s a complicated family situation, to say the least, and highlights the support systems people have even during incredibly difficult times.
In a message dated March 21st, Anna wrote that she was praying for the recipient, according to documents from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas obtained by Us Weekly. She also mentioned she may have added money to their commissary account and admitted she was unsure how to use phone and video call systems.
The 37-year-old mother of seven is raising her children while her husband, Josh, 38, is still serving a 12-year prison sentence for possessing child pornography. She also encouraged Joseph to manage his prison account so he can communicate with Kendra Duggar.
She warned me not to discuss any legal matters without a lawyer present. She explained that all conversations – in messages, phone calls, and video chats – are recorded and shared with the legal team handling the case.
Anna also mentioned to Joseph, who is 31, that Josh had been held in an Arkansas jail in 2021 and described it as “generally safe.”
In her email, she asked Joseph if he was being held in isolation or if he’d be moved to a shared space. She also asked him to reach out if he had any health or safety concerns.
Anna mentioned she’d talked to Kendra, who was arrested on March 20th on charges of child endangerment and false imprisonment but has since been released on bail. Anna commended the 27-year-old for handling a very difficult situation with strength.
Okay, seriously, listening to Kendra talk was just…wow. She’s SO incredibly clear and thoughtful, and she expresses herself perfectly. It’s amazing! And you can just feel how much she loves Joseph, even through everything. She was so strong and composed on the phone, honestly, but my heart absolutely broke when she mentioned not getting to see the kids for another month. It was devastating, you could just hear the pain in her voice.

I’m so sorry to hear everyone is going through this, but I truly believe she’ll be successful eventually. It may take a while, but Kendra is an incredible person – she’s full of grace and a real treasure.
Joseph was arrested in his home state on March 18th following allegations of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 trip to Panama City Beach, Florida. According to police, the now 14-year-old victim told officers that Joseph inappropriately touched her while she was sitting on his lap, covered by a blanket.
Joseph went to court in Florida on March 31st, and the judge ordered him to stay away from both the person he’s accused of harming and all children once he’s released from jail.
Court documents obtained by TopMob News showed that Joseph was released on $600,000 bond.

Besides the charges in Florida, Joseph is also accused of four counts each of putting a child in danger and unlawfully restricting someone’s freedom in Arkansas. He and Kendra haven’t yet responded to these accusations in court.
TopMob News has reached out to Joseph and Kendra’s attorneys for comment but hasn’t heard back.

Joseph’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar broke their silence in a statement on March 30.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are deeply saddened by everything that’s happening,” a family spokesperson told Us Weekly. “Their priority right now is supporting their family and helping Kendra and her children through this challenging time.
The spokesperson said the couple is thinking of the victim and asked for privacy during this difficult time. They are grateful for the support and prayers they’ve received.

On March 19th, we were surprised and deeply saddened to hear about the arrest of Jill’s brother, Joseph Duggar. We found out through a friend who sent us a text about news reports detailing his arrest and allegations that he sexually abused a young girl in 2020. We are both shocked and heartbroken by this news.
Derick and Jill, who publicly shared their experiences with the family in the 2023 book Counting the Cost, stated they firmly denounce abuse.

The couple, married earlier this year, expressed their outrage at the shocking behavior of Joseph, his brother.
Jason and Maddie shared a statement on Instagram on March 26th, saying they were devastated and heartbroken by recent news. While deeply affected personally, they emphasized their sorrow for the child whose life has been shattered by someone who abused their trust. They expressed disgust at the situation and focused on the impact to the vulnerable child.
Maddie and I have always cared deeply about protecting those who are vulnerable, and that will never change,” they shared. “The idea that someone would use their power to harass others is truly disgusting.
The community requested prayers for the victim, described as courageous, and for Joseph’s family. They expressed particular sorrow for his children, who are now growing up without the guidance of a father who should have been a strong spiritual influence in their lives.

Josh is deeply aware of the damage that accusations can cause, his lawyer explained to the Daily Mail on March 20th. He personally understands how false claims can ruin someone’s life and how someone can be unfairly targeted for attention, leading to distorted and exaggerated stories.
The attorney stated that Josh, who is currently in prison for 12 years for possessing child pornography, doesn’t often communicate with his brother, Joseph, but sends his hopes and prayers for Joseph’s health and well-being during this challenging period.

Joy-Anna shared on Instagram on March 26th that she was devastated by the recent news about her brother. She expressed her sympathy for the victim and said she’s been deeply upset and taking time to cope with the situation.
She added, “I will be taking some much-needed time with my family.”

On the March 25th episode of The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast, Jeremy shared that they had a tough week trying to understand and pray about something, and it was impacting the podcast.
Jinger, who relocated to Los Angeles with Jeremy in 2019, shared that she was deeply heartbroken this week. She described the pain and sadness they’ve experienced as immense, and expressed how much it has affected many people, finding it incredibly difficult to process.
“It’s incredibly difficult,” she said. “In times like these, all you can do is pray for strength and help, because you can’t possibly prepare for news like that.”

In a statement to People magazine on March 20, Joseph’s cousin expressed profound sadness, anger, and dismay. They said their immediate concern was for the young victim, who should have been safe, cared for, and surrounded by trustworthy people.
Amy explained she was “utterly shocked to hear about these allegations and Joseph’s arrest.”
I’ve been a long-time supporter of hers, and what always strikes me is her unwavering commitment to truth and holding people accountable – especially when children are involved. She’s always said, and I completely agree, that family relationships shouldn’t automatically mean you trust someone blindly, particularly if a child’s safety is at stake. She’s even stood up to her own family on this, which really shows how serious she is.
