What Matthew Stafford Told His Tearful Daughter After Rams Loss

Matthew Stafford’s failed Super Bowl efforts didn’t stop him from having a winning dad moment.

As a huge Rams fan, it was tough watching them lose to the Seahawks and miss out on the Super Bowl. But I was really touched to hear our quarterback talk about how a good moment with his kids actually helped him stay positive after the game. It’s easy to get down after a loss like that, but he found a way to focus on what really matters, and I admire him for it.

During a recent podcast episode, Matthew shared a touching moment after a game. His daughter was upset and told him she felt bad for him. He responded by telling her not to worry, explaining that his life is wonderful. He feels grateful to be able to play the game he loves for 17 years and is blessed with four daughters and a supportive wife who always cheer him on.

Matthew Stafford, 37, said a heartwarming moment with his children—8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7-year-old Hunter, and 5-year-old Tyler—helped him gain a new perspective on life. He shares these children with his wife, Kelly Stafford.

He shared that while sports, especially football, can be challenging, it allows him to connect with and be a role model for his children. He described a particularly memorable moment – comforting his daughter, helping her through tears, and reaffirming something important to both of them. He called it a truly special experience.

Even though the Rams lost—after winning the Super Bowl in 2022—Matthew Stafford said he still felt good about their last game of the season.

He encouraged people to be brave and take chances, emphasizing that it’s important to accept the consequences of your actions and grow from the experience.

Kelly, Matthew’s wife, also talked about how the family supported each other after their loss.

The podcaster posted on Instagram on January 26th that after a disappointing loss, this is what Matthew was doing at 2:30 am: lovingly tucking his daughters into bed, as shown in a video from a baby monitor.

Kelly Stafford’s daughters were also incredibly supportive this season. She mentioned they went to 15 out of 17 regular season games, plus the playoffs, and even wore matching outfits to cheer on his team!

Kelly shared on Instagram how much her daughters have fallen in love with football – they all want to be quarterbacks on a flag football team! She’s thrilled to see them learn the value of hard work and dedication. She also expressed how happy she is to watch the man she loves pursue his passion with their daughters.

Matthew Stafford is a top quarterback in the NFL, but at home, he’s just a regular dad.

During their team’s bye week, Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, spent a fun, autumn day with their children near their home in Los Angeles.

Kelly celebrated her birthday by expressing gratitude for her family. She wrote that she’s thankful for her daughters’ cheerful smiles and a husband who always makes her laugh.

Kelly shared on Instagram about a fantastic summer day that started with breakfast on the pier, led to a beach outing, and ended with watching a professional women’s surfing competition. She described it as having wonderful ‘aloha vibes’.

As a lifestyle expert, I always say family moments are the best, and it was so sweet to hear about Matthew recently! After his performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, he got to reconnect with three of his daughters in a private suite – talk about a perfect ending to a big night!

Seriously, after spending the entire day yelling my lungs out for my dad at his game, all his kids – my siblings, basically – want to do is curl up and snuggle! It’s the sweetest thing, honestly. All that energy just… disappears, and it’s all about cuddles. It’s perfect!

Matthew’s daughters proudly wear Rams colors everywhere they go, whether it’s at a game or just heading to school.

When Matthew worked from home during COVID-19 shutdowns, his daughters quickly wore him out.

Kelly shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram of her daughters cuddling with Matthew, captioning it, ‘My whole heart in one photo.’
