Following the buzz surrounding the second season of Monster, Ryan Murphy, the series creator, is returning with a third installment of the popular franchise.
This time, the series will tell the real story of Ed Gein, with Charlie Hunnam, known for his role in Sons of Anarchy, playing the part. Hunnam explained to Tudum that his performance will be “a really human, tender, unflinching, no-holds-barred exploration of who Ed was and what he did. But who he was being at the centre of it, rather than what he did.”
This eight-episode series will explore both the details of Gein’s life and his crimes, and also examine how he impacted popular culture. It will delve into his story and consider his lasting influence.
As per the synopsis: “From Psycho to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to The Silence of the Lambs, Gein’s macabre legacy gave birth to fictional monsters born in his image and ignited a cultural obsession with the criminally deviant. Ed Gein didn’t just influence a genre — he became the blueprint for modern horror.”
But just when is the series landing on Netflix? Read on to find out exactly that.
