What Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Have Been Up to During Private Time

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift aren’t fighting the alchemy of the Olympics 2026. 

The Kansas City Chiefs player recently mentioned that he and his fiancée have been watching the Winter Olympics, especially enjoying Team USA’s gold medal win against Canada in men’s hockey on February 22nd.

Travis told his brother Jason Kelce on their February 25th podcast, New Heights, that he and Taylor Swift watched the whole game. He described it as ‘epic,’ saying it was filled with nonstop action from beginning to end and kept him completely engaged.

Indeed, Travis emphasized that he and Taylor, both 36, “loved every bit” of the action. 

Although Taylor and Travis have been keeping a relatively low profile this year, Taylor has already publicly shown her support for Team USA in multiple ways. She recently celebrated alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin’s gold medal win, commenting “HISTORIC” with several gold medal emojis on Shiffrin’s Instagram post on February 20th.

Singer Opalite also celebrated the engagement of alpine skier Breezy Johnson to Connor Watkins, who proposed in Cortina. Johnson’s ring box featured lyrics from Opalite’s song “Alchemy,” a sweet nod to the music.

Taylor commented on Chris Brown’s Instagram post from February 12th, playfully asking, “Where’s the trophy?” She added, “He just comes running over to me!” and congratulated him.

In addition to watching the Winter Games, Taylor sent a supportive message to all the Team USA athletes before they competed.

Taylor shared a video message on February 6th expressing how inspiring it is to learn about the sacrifices, dedication, and hard work that have led athletes to achieve excellence. She said she’s grateful for their journey and for being able to witness their accomplishments.

Taylor Swift’s recent enthusiasm for sports likely comes from her boyfriend, as she used to avoid athletics and even said she wouldn’t date athletes. In her Disney+ documentary, The End of an Era, she explained her past thinking: “I always wondered what we’d even have to talk about.”

Taylor Swift was genuinely surprised by her connection with Travis Kelce, as she admitted it was a complete shock – something she’d never experienced before, according to the documentary series.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big Taylor Swift fan, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at the concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to deliver it because she was busy getting ready for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset she didn’t talk before or after her concerts because she needs to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs. He added that he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he made, but didn’t get the chance.

Following his now-famous on-stage mistake – which he’d later jokingly call “totally awesome” – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium, Arrowhead.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d seen her perform at Arrowhead Stadium and she should come see him perform there too, to see who puts on a better show. He added that they’ll see what happens soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August at training camp, when he and Taylor met.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with inside knowledge, Travis and Taylor began communicating—mostly through texts and occasional phone calls—around the beginning of September, TopMob News reported.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor Swift accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer him and the Kansas City Chiefs on as they played the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met face-to-face for the first time, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how close they were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another hint that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly displayed their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the celebration with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform as part of her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor during the concert.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and enthusiastically kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, not worrying about who else is around. She contrasted this with the lengths people sometimes go to in order to keep a relationship secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’ game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and secured their place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and told each other ‘I love you’.

During the nearly two-hour conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced the title of her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment that quickly went viral – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post, captioning their engagement photos with, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
