Frank Giustra, the Canadian billionaire, 🇨🇦 has shared his thoughts on the great debate between Bitcoin and gold. According to him, comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges 🍏🍊, they just don’t mix.
Giustra is convinced that Bitcoin has never truly acted like gold, you know, that shiny metal that people run to during tough times 💎. “During market downturns or geopolitical instability, investors run to gold as a safe haven asset,” he said in a post on the X social media network.
But what about Bitcoin? Well, Giustra thinks it’s more of a risk-on asset 🎲. It’s like playing roulette, you either win big or lose it all.
Plot Twists Galore!
Now, Giustra isn’t exactly a fan of Bitcoin. In fact, he’s been quite critical of it. During a debate with Michael Saylor in 2021, he claimed that Bitcoin’s price can be easily manipulated. And let’s not forget his accusation against Bitcoin maximalists for constantly changing their narrative.
“The Bitcoin maxis have changed the narrative so many times, whenever each new narrative fails. Bitcoin has had more plot twists than ‘Gone Girl’,” he joked.
And it seems like gold has been outshining Bitcoin this year, especially with all the global trade tensions 🌍. But some analysts argue that Bitcoin is ambidextrous in nature, meaning it can act as both a safe haven asset and a risk asset.
So, what do you think? Is Bitcoin more like Gone Girl or gold? Let us know in the comments below! 🗨️
