The Black Phone 2 is now playing in theaters and has received positive reviews. Fans are eager to know when they’ll be able to watch it at home. While a specific digital release date isn’t available yet, we can look at how the studio has released similar movies in the past to get an idea of when it might be available.
When will Black Phone 2 get its digital release date?
The Black Phone 2 premiered in theaters on October 17, 2025, and will play in cinemas for at least two or three weeks before becoming available to rent or buy online. Blumhouse usually releases films digitally relatively quickly after their theatrical run.
Recent horror films like Wolf Man and M3GAN 2.0 became available digitally about 18 days after hitting theaters. But because The Black Phone 2 is performing well and is expected to have a longer run in cinemas, its digital release might be closer to 30 days after its theatrical debut – around the second week of November. Generally, you can expect a digital release between 17 and 45 days after a film is shown in theaters.
However, this is only the timeline for renting or buying the film. It will stream much later.
When will Black Phone 2 begin streaming on Peacock?
The new movie, from Universal Pictures, will first be available to stream on Peacock. Similar movies from Blumhouse Productions usually appear on streaming services about 90 days after they hit theaters, which means “Black Phone 2” should be streaming around January 2026.
I’m really excited about Black Phone 2! It continues the story from the 2021 hit, The Black Phone, and thankfully, Scott Derrickson is back directing. It’s fantastic to see Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, and Jeremy Davies all returning, and I’m intrigued to see what Demián Bichir will bring to the cast. I can’t wait to see it!
In the movie, 15-year-old Gwen is plagued by nightmares and unsettling visions connected to a mysterious black phone. She begins to see disturbing images of three boys being hunted at a winter camp. Along with her brother, Finn, she investigates the mystery, but they soon come face-to-face with the Grabber, a deadly killer who seems to have gained even more strength after death.
If you’re like me and can’t stand waiting for a movie to come out on demand, I’d recommend heading to the cinema right now – it’s playing there and it’s fantastic! I just saw it and I think you’ll love it too.
