When Will ‘Song Sung Blue’ Be Available To Stream?

Focus Features

The movie Song Sung Blue is based on Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary. Since Focus Features, a part of Universal Studios, produced the film, it will be available to stream on Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming service.

Since 2022, Universal has streamed its movies on Peacock through an agreement where content is available for a set period. Typically, a film will be on Peacock for four months, then move to another streaming service for a while, before returning to Peacock for another four months. This cycle repeats over an 18-month period.

Focus Features films typically become available to stream about seven weeks after they debut in theaters. For instance, Emma Stone’s Bugonia started streaming on Peacock on December 26th, which was seven weeks after its October 31st theatrical release. Similarly, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale appeared on Peacock on November 7th, also seven weeks after hitting theaters on September 12th.

Peacock and Universal will likely release Song Sung Blue in a similar way to their other films, meaning it should become available on the streaming service around Valentine’s Day. It’s a perfect movie to enjoy with your loved one!

Both Bugonia and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale became available to rent or buy online about three weeks after they were first shown in cinemas. Bugonia was released digitally on November 25th, following its October 31st theatrical debut, while Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale appeared on demand on September 30th, after premiering on September 12th.

Since Song Sung Blue isn’t doing well in cinemas, it’s likely to become available for rental on demand relatively quickly, similar to how Downton Abbey was released, rather than having a longer theatrical run like Bugonia. We can expect it to be available for digital rental as early as January 13th, and definitely no later than January 20, 2026, with new releases typically appearing on Tuesdays.

For now, the musical is only available in theaters.
